Finally, finally, finally, we are in the holiday swing. School is over, and we are enjoying some actual festiviities. The last few weeks have been kind of frenetic, with all of us pulled in different directions, but we are finally all on the same page and ready to enjoy.

Sunday
- Cardio: 1 miles, walking
I don’t have much to report here. We were out too late, I had a little too much fun, and that meant Sunday was made for the couch. I walked the pugs, and returned to my blankets. No regrets. No photos.
Monday
- Cardio: 6.14 miles, walking
Monday morning was a chace to make up for Sunday’s “rest” day.

I was glad to have a calm day at home to catch up on work and recovery. Sometimes, you need those things.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.83 miles, running + .64 miles, walking
Another solid run.

Then I treated myself to a festive coffee on my way to my nail appointment.

I had a dog walk and made it home in time to get ready for a night in St. Augustine for Nights of Lights. Locals know that weeknights are way more manageable than weekends, so we made a 4PM reservation and enjoyed an earlier night.

Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.63 miles, walking
After my walk, I headed to a morning meeting.

And then shopping. I was very behind. let’s also take a moment for our cookie boxes!

In the evening, we had book club! Our book was The Intruder by Frieda McFadden, and we did a holiday potluck and book exchange. It was such a great night, except I have zero photos! How did that happen?
Thursday
- Cardio: 5.58 miles, running
Another packed day, that started with a run.

Shopping again. There were a few things I forgot.
For our evening festivities, we headed to bartaco and upstairs lounge in Jacksonville for their holiday party. It was a great night with make your own margs, live music, and great food.

Friday
- Cardio: 4.15 miles, walking
Oh, my ankle was a wreck this morning after a night in heels. Yuck. Instead of pushing a run, I threw my energies into a nice walk, which I had to cut short so I could take A to his last day of school. I really love spending car time with him.

Afterwards, I was out and about for some last minute errands.
That evening, the four of us went to our local Arboretum for their Glowing Gardens event. We walked through the lights, saw Santa, and made s’mores at their firepits. It was so nice.

Saturday
- Cardio: 4.08 miles, walking
Even though I was dragging, I squeezed in a quick walk.

For today’s events, we had a cooking class with a brunch menu and mimosas.

When we were finished, we went straight to the nearest sports bar to watch the Miami Hurricanes beat Texas A&M in the first ever college playoffs game. To be honest, it was a terrible game with lots of mistakes and missed field goals, but somehow, the Canes pulled out the victory. We move on to the Cotton Bowl on NYE.
And then we came home where I took a very late lie-down and the kids made us dinner. Yum.
Thoughts + Goals
I am pretty stoked to kiss 2025 goodbye. Am I excited for a new year? Well, the jury is out. I am just going to stay chill until it gets here.
The next two weeks are going to be pretty busy with Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s, and Mr. PugRunner’s birthday. All I can do is sit back, and enjoy the time.

Looks like a fun, busy week! You have so many great options for holiday fun down there. Enjoy your family and have a great Christmas!
It was a lot of fun! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Looks like you took advantage of so many fun holiday events this week! Date night photo looks fabulous! Hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas
Thank you. I hope your holidays are wonderful!
Sounds like you had a fantastic week of holiday celebrations! We visited St. Augustine in early January a couple of years ago while the lights were still up and it was gorgeous!
Merry Christmas, Jenn!
Merry Christmas!
January is a much better time to go! Crowds are so much easier!
What a busy but fun-filled week with holiday parties and lights! There have been some Night of lights variations in towns where I’ve lived but I’ve never had the opportunity to go.
Cookie boxes? Sounds like something I’d enjoy! Wishing you a lovely Christmas with plenty of joyful times with your family but also some restful days.
St. Augustine is known for its Nights of Lights. It’s a huge tourist destination, and it’s always a battle between the balance of tourists and locals. We try to avoid the area because of the traffic and congestion, but it’s really lovely.
So many fun activities.
Do you like Freida McFadden? I’ve read almost all her books.
I like Frieda McFadden, but not sure if I love her or not. The Housemaid was awesome and I tore through that. The Intruder was a lot less exciting, and there’s always a twist or double twist (I love that aspect of it), but sometimes it feels like there’s more focus on trying to distract the reader than on the actual story. I will give her a break for a bit and then try another one. I’m up for recommendations.
You do so many fun things! Love the Glowing Gardens!
I can’t believe Christmas is so soon now!
The Glowing Gardens are beautiful. It’s also so nice to have low crowds compared to downtown St. Augustine. It’s so much more relaxing and low-key.
Your nails are so pretty and festive! Make your own margarita sounds interesting. Did you make any different flavor combo?
Enjoy your family time and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
For this event, because it was so busy and the drinks take a minute (especially if guests are making them), it was pretty much a standard marg with a choice of salt, raw sugar or tajin rim. Last time I was there, you could make a few different varieties, which was cool. This restaurant prides itself on cocktails made with fresh juice, so they have tons of citrus and these huge, old-school steel juicers. It’s awesome.
Looks like a fun week! All the holiday activities make for busyness, but also great entertainment 😉
I really love all the lights and the music. It makes me so happy.
What a fun and festive week! We had a busy week and it was festive too, so it was fun! Love your nails!! Have a happy holiday 🙂
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It looked like you had a wonderful and festive week as well!
