And here we are, on Easter eve, wondering how it’s April already. It’s kind of a rushed week: there’s been a lot of travel in our family, so I’m on the hook for prepping for the Easter holiday. Would you believe I didn’t even dye eggs this year? They are hard boiled, but no one was here to color them, so I just let it go.

Sunday
- Cardio: March To Get Screened 5K
I was up and at ’em pretty early for the annual March To Get Screened. I owe you all a race report on this, but I really do enjoy this event. It’s super close to home, and for the most wonderful cause. The medals are pretty awesome, too.

Monday
- Cardio: 6.47 miles, running + 1.02 miles, walking
Happy Monday. I got in a solid run, in between dog walks. I confess at this point, I was pretty tired. A was a huge help around the house, but I’d been doing a lot of juggling responsibilities and super early mornings.

The night ended with a trip to the airport to pick up Mr PugRunner from his brothers’ week. It was good to have the family all home again.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.18 miles, running + .86 miles, walking
As you can see, it’s warming up out there! I am going to miss the cooler days. Summer isn’t my favorite!

Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.67 miles, walking
Happy April Fools Day! Yes, I wrote a post about pranks, but I don’t love them and I didn’t engage in any. What WAS on the calendar was a walk on my own, as well as several clients. I do love when my worlds collide enough that work is fitness. This photo is a little out of context, but I was working on some “runner math.” How do you determine what time to get up for a race?

Thursday
- Cardio: 3.18 miles, running + 1 mile, walking
I woke up a little late but I was still able to squeeze in some morning miles.

The evening ended on a pretty rough note. Leonidas decided to climb the couch, which led to him slipping into the end table and crashing to the floor with the table, the lamp, and a bottle of water. He popped right up and then we realized he was bleeding everywhere. Upon investigation, we saw that his toenail was missing, and we bundled that boy up and into the car.
Courtesy of one of my clients, we headed to a wonderful emergency vet. While it was very scary, the good news was that the nail ripped out entirely and cleanly. They didn’t need to stitch him up, and because the bleeding had stopped, he didn’t even need a bandage! In fact, the most traumatizing part of the whole thing for him was the car ride! I was able to save the couch from the blood, but not the rug. A new one is on the way!
Friday
- Cardio: 5.73 miles, running + .77 miles, walking
- Strength: Resistance Band training, 20 minutes
I was up and out early, and made it home from my run and dog walk just in time to say goodbye to the boys! They were heading to Orlando for the FFCC Championships!

I had a meeting, and then I ran some errands all over town. lt’s been a while since I’ve been out and about, and I picked up some last minute things for Easter. I also washed all the cushions on the patio furniture and put the patio back together after the house painting. It’s much more welcoming now.
Saturday
- Cardio: 4 miles, walking
- Strength: Resistance Band Session, 20 minutes
You all wouldn’t believe the things I do when left to my own devices. Of course, the day started with a walk. From there, I picked up groceries for Easter dinner, purged and organized the pantry, assembled all the Easter baskets, set up the buffet table for the holiday, and got a jump on some of the cooking prep. I know how to party.

Thoughts + Goals
I’ve got one longterm housesitting job this month, for the sweetest 6 month old puppy. I’ll have shorter periods of time to do things, but I also have access to a lap pool, a fantastic gym, and great running paths.
In the meantime, I bought a set of resistance bands, to use for stretching and strength when I can’t get to the gym. They’ve been advertising versions of these bands all over social media, so I figured I would give it a go. But I’m also kind of interested in swimming again.
Oh! And I bought dresses for my nephew’s wedding! I’ve been looking for a while and I finally found perfect options for the welcome dinner and wedding event! They came this weekend, and I love them both!

Another active week. You make me feel lazy. You are a running machine.
Looking forward to seeing those dresses. Isn’t online shipping great?
Happy Easter.
You are far from lazy! I just can’t quiet my brain. And I’m not even going fast. Just toodling on along.
I love online shopping but I have a tough body type. I’m definitely curvier and sometimes things don’t fit well, even if the measurements technically align. The nice thing about these is they are actually floor length! With my height, it’s tough to find dresses that actually hit the ground and so I am obsessed with these!
It sounds like you had a really great, productive week! Poor Leonidas! I’m glad the toenail incident wasn’t anything serious. I’m sure you know about OxyClean or hydrogen peroxide to remove blood from fabrics, right? And that long term housesitting gig sounds great.
Happy Easter!
Oh yes,the couch got a healthy does of hydrogen peroxide. The rug…. it was about 15 years old and I have been looking for a reason to replace it. So, I admit I didn’t try too hard to save it.
I hope you had a nice Easter!
You had a productive day! I pantry-fess I just noticed and tosses a bag of potatoes in the back since Christmas …
Sounds like your longer-term gig has some perks — nice!
We could never keep potatoes in the pantry! The humidity would rot them in a hot second!
Looks like a very productive week! The pantry always looks like it needs to be reorganized over here. On my list for this summer too. Your dog biz is super busy!! Nice work on making that so successful
Soooo busy! Even when it feels like I don’t have much going on, I have plenty going on!
Oh poor Leo!!! Glad everything is okay. Well, except for your rug.
I wish I could see your Easter baskets- you probably do a really nice job with them. My daughter got an Easter basket as always, and my son and future DIL got their Easter “baskets” in reusable shopping bags, since they don’t like to be wasteful and are traveling back to Chicago tomorrow.
I’ll bet those bands give you a good workout. And congrats on the race!
I’ve been using the same baskets for years. Same for stockings. Once they are cleared out of candy, I just put the baskets back in the closet for next year. This year, they were a little less impressive: it’s going to be an expensive summer with the new apartment and all the purchases we need to do for that.
Listen. We need to talk about the bands. That will be next week.
Wow, what an active week!! Poor Leo- hope everyone is doing okay now.
We are all good, thank goodness!
Well that large colon (I’m guessing?) is quite memorable! I hope it brings awareness on the importance of screening. And quite a medal too!
What an incident with Leo. I’m sure that was very distressing to see, so I’m glad it was better than it looked.
Way to go on that pantry organization! Quite a busy afternoon. That’s a satisfying reward for your efforts!
Yes, it’s a colon! I love that the organization just decided to embrace the GI system entirely. It makes it so much more accessible and normalizes the conversation.
I feel so much better with an organized pantry.
My pantry is easy to maintain as it’s not a walk-in. My walk-in closet, however, is needing a little attention. I need to purge out the puffer vests (fingers crossed that won’t jinx the weather) and rotate-in some of the spring/summer sandals. Glad Leo is okay…how scary!
Mine’s not a walk in, either (boooo). It’s just kind of wide. I have things I want to do to it, but one thing at a time.
I think I will work on cabinets first, then closets. I have a lot of big ideas and then I get overwhelmed.
My pantry could definitely use some cleaning out and organizing, and I’ve been saying that for at least two years. Maybe you’ve motivated me?
I’m so glad that Leonidas injury wasn’t any worse. Too bad you can’t say the same for the rug.
Yay for finding dresses for your nephew’s wedding. That’s always a relief to get that taken care of with plenty of time to spare.
Haha! You can do it! It feels so great… except my husband just put a bottle back in the wrong place and I’m glaring at him, because SIR THAT TOOK ME 2.5 HOURS!
The rug was olllllllllddddddd and I’ve been looking for a solid reason to replace it. He did me a favor!
