Iced coffee is life right now. With the record-breaking heat across the country, I feel like everyone is struggling to hold on to their motivation and their sanity and it’s tough. Little treats have become the order of business and I’m all about bribing myself to get things done.

After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.

Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That I LOVE line dancing. While I prefer newer country music to the classics, I think it’s such a fun and inviting activity, and I can’t wait to do it again. I have tons to learn, but I think it’s great that anyone and everyone can hop in and be part of the dance. Do I also love the boots? You know I do!

I Would Also Tell You…
That I finally picked up a needle again! A sewing needle! J and I attended another class at The Social Society! This was counted cross stitch, which is what I grew up on and it was so much fun. We didn’t get to finish our projects in the 90 minutes allotted but I’m working on it at home.

Over Coffee, I Would Share…
That I’m trying out a new device to help with my productivity and presence. It’s called the “BRICK” and it’s job is to shut off apps that I find distracting when I’m meant to be doing other things. I’m usually pretty good about self-regulating, but sometimes I need a little help before I get lost in solitaire games or scrolling. I’ll be writing a full post about it in the next couple of weeks, but you can check it out here.

While I’m Having Coffee, I’m Going To Share…
That we are going to see The Lost Boys on Broadway! First of all, The Lost Boys is one of my favorite movies of all time. So when I heard there was a musical based on that? I was hooked! I’ve followed the evolution of the show through previews and the Tony’s and I was so excited to hear that it would start its travel tour in 2028. But then, I thought to myself that it might be worth seeing what tickets would cost for a show that no one thought would catch on. Friends, I couldn’t get tickets to a touring show in Jacksonville for that price, so we talked and decided to see it on its original stage! I. Am. Elated.

With Coffee In Hand, I Would Tell You…
That this is our last full month with A. I’m so excited for him, but also sad for us. It will be so very different, but we are hanging in there as best we can.
What would you share over coffee? What something spontaneous and impulsive you’ve done lately?

I have tix for Lost Boys in nyc in October. Hope you like it. Wish I could meet up.
My friends do line dancing. They love it.
I used to do a lot of sewing. May go back.
It’s Florida hot here. At least it will end for us.
Next time for sure!
I’m so excited I could cry!
I hope it cools down a little for when I’m up there!
I used to do a lot of cross-stitch. I probably have several unfinished ornament sets in a closet somewhere. 😉
Enjoy your month with A, but they do come home again!
I never made anything useful with my cross stitches. I just did that and rolled them away somewhere. I don’t know what I’ll do with this one. Maybe hang it in the kitchen.
OMG – the nest is almost empty!
Line dancing looks like a lot of fun.
Have a great trip to NYC and enjoy the show. I can’t wait to hear about it.
Eeeek! I’m so excited!
The Lost Boys movie was a good one – I bet the show will be great!
Enjoy this last month with A. Amazing to think that he’ll be heading off to college soon.
I know there are major differences between the movie and the show but I don’t care! It’s going to be so gooood!
We are trying to! he’s working a lot so it’s been tough to see him.
The line dancing sounds like a fun adventure! The boots are definitely necessary 😉 I’m on the hunt for a cute glitzy pair myself…to wear to the state fair 😉
Oh fun! I’m sure you’ll find the perfect pair, or you can just bedazzle a pair!
I love how much you’re enjoying line dancing – that’s so cool! And I’m sure the boots make you a much better line dancer. 😉
Enjoy your time with A. The best weekend EVER will be his first weekend home after being away at college. Trust me, I know from experience (times two)!
The boots made me the best! I love them lol!
I believe you and I can’t wait!
LINE DANCING!! so much fun!! I did that soooooo many moons ago, back in High School and then later when I lived in Portland. and of course it’s also about the boots! hello!
it’s so nice to know you are picking up an old loved hobby. you know I’m all for that right now!
you are moving into the next phase of life without A at home. it will be strange, yes! but you have done everything to set him up for success and now all your work, love, blood, sweat and tears will come to a fabulous fruition. exciting times!!
also, iced coffee is life. I thank the universe that the Netherlands finally have caught on to ice cubes. you can take the girl out of the United States but some bits of the United States can never leave the girl. Ice cubes are part of my DNA 😀
I’ve never tried cross stitching but it looks fun! 😀 (I’m really trying to rein in my hobbies, but to no avail, haha. I probably need BRICK in my life…)
I hope you have fun seeing The Lost Boys + enjoy this month! <3
