weekly wrap: 9.24 – 10.2

October 9, 2017      2 Comments

Happy Monday!  It’s time for the Weekly Wrap with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin!

WeeklyWrap

If you do a weekly recap post, this is a great way to check in with other active bloggers for extra support, sharing and accountability!

September has been a good month. I completed 84 miles of running, including a 10 mile long run! Hooray for double digits! Overall, I feel pretty good – my right leg is still a little achy from time time, but I am counting on a massage in a couple of weeks to help set that straight (this will be my first massage in about 12 years).

Sunday – rest

This was the Sundayest Sunday that ever Sundayed. I don’t think we did much of anything.  I had a ton of PTA work to do and so Mr PugRunner took little man on a pool play date with one of his Scouts friends. I was able to get a ton done, even though it wasn’t incredibly fun.

Monday – rest

I do love a good rest day. Having Mondays as my rest day as worked fairly well for me thus far, so I’m going to continue it.

Tuesday – 6 miles, running

I didn’t sleep incredibly well, which meant I got up too early and started on my run before I was supposed to. By the time I picked up my friend and we did our miles, I was already at six. I barely realized it.

I was also thrilled to sport my new Sunset Palms headband from Sweaty Bands. Proceeds

Tuesday night was our school McTeacher’s Night, where the staff and teachers sign up to help serve at our local McDonalds. It’s a really fun evening, and the kids love seeing their teachers in the drive-through window and passing out trays of food. That being said, I was there for about three hours, and was absolutely wiped out by the time I got home.

Wednesday – rest

I was thrilled to have another day off of running. I was just exhausted and ready to just veg on the couch.

Thursday – 6.2 miles, running

Since I ran six on Tuesday, it didn’t feel right going back to five. I figured I might as well do a flat 10K to really hearn by House Puggister medal. Done and dusted. Those 5:30AM runs are not the best for photographs.

I got dressed, and headed to school to help with some more shirt distributions, health screenings and assorted things in the front office. I ran a few errands and picked up lunch to bring to little man. I hadn’t yet had lunch with him and he had been asking.

It was a really nice experience. Things are smaller at this school, and therefore the cafe is just a little more quiet. I hope to do it again, soon.

Our evening was a bit more rushed. We had our first Pack Meeting for Scouts, which meant everyone had to be in their Class A uniforms and ready for all the awards and honors to come. I ended up bringing two of little man’s friends with us so that Mr PugRunner and their parents could go to Back to School Night. Little man brought home four awards earned over the summer, and was really excited to start his Webelos year off so well.

Friday – rest

My first order of business was breakfast with a friend, and then taking a bit of a breather for the week.

Saturday – 10 miles, running

I got through about four miles before I grabbed S. After I get her, we run a few more, swing by my house so I can grab a quick drink, and then continue on our way. This time, I also needed a bathroom break. Boo.

However, it felt amazing to get in the full 10 miles.

My parents came over for some burgers  (we still had a ton in the freezer from the hurricane) and to hang out. We haven’t seen them in what seems like ages, so I’m glad we could make it work.

I am embarrassed to admit I was in bed before 9:00. I was exhausted from the early start, the on-again, off-again rain and the run.

This is going to be a cutback week for me. I have a local 5K on Saturday, and I haven’t decided if I am going to try to log some miles before the race starts. We shall see how I’m feeling – to be honest, my focus is elsewhere this week.

How was your week in training?

Your weeks seems awesome. Great job. Keep up the great work! I had to put off my training because of a trip to Ireland!

So many miles in between everything else! I’m so impressed with your motivation levels. I have a 5K Sat and one on Sunday and I am as unprepared as I possibly could be. Eek.

It was a beautiful morning that turned quickly into a beautiful day. Sundays are hard because they are immediately followed by Mondays, and Mondays are hard.

Lots to catch up on this week! April is chock full of holidays, birthdays, days off, and events, so let’s get to it!

About this morning… I was up and out early to d About this morning…

I was up and out early to drive to Flagler Beach for the #Missionpossible5k.

It was a small, well organized event, with an easy-to-follow course (the last mile was almost exclusively an ocean view), with great shirts and swag.

I was really pleased with my performance, and even more pleased with this beach sunrise. I’ll share more on the #RunnersRundown on Wednesday, so stay tuned!

Where did you run or race this weekend?

So good to stretch the legs today. I was super sore after a @runsmartofficial cross training session last night, and needed to just get out there and let the fresh air work its magic.

What are you up to today? I really need to take a moment with my calendar and get some plans locked into place.

Check out those blue skies! I got to sleep in AND Check out those blue skies!

I got to sleep in AND take advantage of some cooler temps. It really didn’t warm up until my last mile and that was just fine.

I feel like this month and next are really just flying by. So much is going on, and I want so badly to enjoy it all, including the crisp, sunny days where we find them!

Happy Monday! I don’t know about you all, but y Happy Monday!

I don’t know about you all, but your girl is TIRED. It is so hard to roll out of bed some mornings. Ugh.

I managed (finally) and banked six miles in some gross humidity. And now it’s time for some self care and then back to work.

Also. We have somehow acquired a pecan tree? Any tips on the growth and care of this would be greatly appreciated!

Sunday fun day! Just a short walk to start the da Sunday fun day!

Just a short walk to start the day and work out some stiffness. Some days, my ankle just doesn’t want to cooperate 🫤

I have been making graphics and content all day for a client, and now I’m about to do hair and makeup for a little event. Wheee!

This week is going to be BUSY! There’s a lot of changes to the regular routines (nails, a digital learning day, after school and weekend programming) and I have a race on Saturday and bocce ball on Sunday!

Who else is ready to dive in?!
