And just like that, the Boston Marathon is back! I’ll be following along at home, and I’m cheering on Emily Sisson, along with some social media friends! It’s an exciting time! While I may not be toeing the start line, I’ve been doing plenty of running of my own. Let’s see how the week went down!

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.08 miles, walking
- Strength: 20 minutes, resistance bands
Happy Sunday. It was a rough couple of night with this little puppy, but we are back to sleeping through the night and she is feeling much more comfortable.
I did my walk and spent some time with the resistance bands. Upper body only to avoid getting whacked in the face. They are great for strength and mobility. I’m doing a lot with shoulder opening and back strength.

Monday
- Cardio: 3.53 miles, running
- Strength: Leg Day, 15 minutes
I hit the road for a little run. The weather has been gorgeous and the skies so blue. While the mornings are cooler, it’s heating up in the day, and I’m not loving that one bit.

I also got to visit a new neighborhood gym. It’s lovely and packed with great equipment. I spent a little time working on the legs.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.54 miles, running
- Strength: Resistance Bands, 20 minutes, Eastern Stretching, 20 minutes
I’m getting to mix up some of the my running routes, and I really appreciate that. I also have to break up my runs because of an early client, but that’s ok. However it fits in. To keep things moving, I have my resistance bands.

I also started doing this Eastern stretching I saw on TikTok. Basically it’s 16 moves done for one minute each, starting with lymphatic hops, and including things like arm circles, dead arms, marching, and twists, designed for slimming, strengthening, mobility, and flexibility. It doesn’t seem like much at all, but the next few days I was SORE.
That evening, I built in some time to attend a Court of Honor with Scouts. A will have his own COH soon, but for now, he was being recognized for his Eagle to the troop. The event was running long and I had to leave, but found out that Mr PugRunner and I were also honored for our years of service to the Troop. We both got these plaques, and I got this gorgeous bouquet. I served as Committee Chair for 6-7 years, and he was Outdoor Coordinator for 4-5 years. It was so nice.

Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.09 miles, walking
- Strength: Resistance Bands, 20 minutes, Eastern Stretching, 20 minutes
Time for a walk day. I got out to the river for a bit. Yay!

More stretching more band work. More pups. The usual.
Thursday
- Cardio: 5.18 miles, running
- Strength: Eastern Stretching, 20 minutes
Saw a special little friend out in the water today on my run. It’s hard to tell but he’s about six feet long. Even I know that’s too big to make friends. I have a feeling trappers will be coming for him soon. It’s too easy for him to access communal areas. It’s a shame.

Friday
- Cardio: 5.79 miles, running
We are in a groove now! Puppy is sleeping well, and I’m making my rounds. Sure, I have to do things in fits and spurts, but it’s happening. I had a good run, and I said hello to my favorite swamp puppy again. He’s just so big.

On a not so great note: my puppy charge got into some ants. They came out of nowhere and I noticed them quickly. The great news is that she has A TON of hair, so it looks like they couldn’t even get to her skin to bite her. The bad news is that I do not have the same protections and did suffer some bites as I got them off her. Fortunately, she is just fine, and I don’t have terrible reactions to ant bites, so it will be ok. Just some excitement I didn’t need.
Saturday
- Cardio
- Strength: Eastern Stretching, 20 minutes
I was just tired today. It’s been a long week and I still have more ahead.

On the plus side, the pugs paid me a visit! You can see they are not huge fans of the car, but they were so happy to see me, and I to see them!

Thoughts + Goals
So. Here we are.
I’m excited to follow along with the Boston Marathon on Monday. That’s always exciting.
We are putting the celebration plans in place for A’s birthday. And M is coming to town to celebrate mine.
It’s also Kentucky Derby season. One thing about me is I am obsessed with the Kentucky Derby. I know nothing about it, don’t follow any kind of horse racing, but when mid April hits, I’m all in. We are dressing up and going to a derby event, I ordered a book about the first Kentucky Derby and the history behind it, and I’m hoping to cook a derby themed meal. Eeek! My top three horses are Renegade, Further Ado, and So Happy, but I’m still reasearching!
Oh, and I’m heading to the Spud Run 10K on Saturday. That will be amazing!
