So the 2020 US General Election is on Day 73,412, and here were are in November.
Join us for this month’s Ultimate Coffee Date. After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
Mr PugRunner and I celebrated 14 years of marriage this week. Normally, we would go on a small vacation in honor of our special day, but clearly, that’s not in the cards this year. Instead, we had a nice lunch at a local farm, and then a family dinner on the patio of a really nice restaurant in the historic downtown. It was nice to take that little break in the middle of the week.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
I’ve been glued to Twitter and all the television coverage of the 2020 election. I like to see all the sides, so I’ve been switching between pretty much all the stations. It’s amazing now differently all the analysts are treating the situations. While I know I am driving myself to anxiety with the back and forth, I can’t look away from any of it. I am the same way about hurricane coverage.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That it’s time for a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha (with whip, of course). I usually go for iced coffees at Dunkin, but every so often, a festive, mint and chocolate laced drink is just the ticket.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That I joined up with the most ridiculous November challenge: Abvember. I don’t remember who encouraged this nonsense, but holy moly!
I don’t know which of these three exercises is the worst, but I’m getting them done.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That I am not really looking forward to Thanksgiving. It’s the one year anniversary of my fall, and it fills me with all kinds of anxiety. I don’t know how any plans are going to shake out and I am just over the uncertainty. It’s not my most favorite holiday anyway. Maybe we can skip it.
And there it is. Hope you are having a wonderful November!
How about you? Are you doing any kind of November Challenge? What would you tell me over coffee?
Darlene S Cardillo says
This election is crazy…lost many hours of sleep.
Just think how amazing your 15th will be. Hopefully this will be all over by then…NYC???!!
No challenges at least no official ones. Some virtuals for fun and may be some real ones.
Dec 30 is my 12 year anniversary. It feels like yesterday and forever ago at the same time.
runswithpugs says
NYC would be amazing!
It’s really crazy how the years seems to add up but how time flies, too.
Laurie says
I am watching the election coverage obsessively too. Ugh! When will it end?
Happy anniversary to you and your hubby. Even though you don’t take a trip, I hope you had a fun celebration. The photo of the 2 of you is so cute! Lovebirds! 🙂
runswithpugs says
It’s “ended” but I have a feeling it won’t really end until January 20, come what may.
Thank you! We did have a nice day.
Coco says
Oh, gosh, did you fall on Thanksgiving, or is it the date that the’s same this year? I still think of you every time I start down the steps without turning on the light — and then I turn on the light. Our Thanksgiving could be interesting if my son hosts in the house he’s settling on that Monday — he’s so excited but perhaps underestimating the stress of your first home purchase and move. 😉
I’m so confused by some organizations calling AZ days ago, and some not calling it yet.
Thanks for joining us for coffee!
runswithpugs says
I fell the Saturday before, but it was the day we were celebrating with my parents (my mom had work on the actual day of). I HATE going down the stairs now. HATE.
Aw, that first time hosting is always so fun.
Well, it’s all called now!
Michelle D. says
Happy Anniversary!
That Abvember challenge looks insane! I just completed Core-tober a Peloton challenge and am now doing two more – gotta keep motivated, right?
runswithpugs says
Thank you!
The challenges are great for motivation!
Kimberly Hatting says
Oooh, that Abvember challenge looks fun…I’d probably forget the every hour thing LOL It would probably make the day go faster…right? No Starbucks in my little town, or else I’d be tempted to buy the drinks just for the pretty cups 😉
runswithpugs says
I get as close to every hour as I can. Sometimes I’m in the car, or out, so… no.
It took a while for us to get a Sbux here. It’s always busy so I was surprised to get a cup!
Catrina says
Congrats on your 14th wedding anniversary! I think it’s cool that you always do something special.
At first I thought the Abvember wasn’t too bad – until I read that it’s every hour for 10 hours!!!! That is a great challenge. Imagine all the muscles you build up over the month!
Love the Starbucks cups.

Abvember was a terrible idea! I’m skipping today. I did a half marathon this morning and I just don’t want to plank.
Liz Dexter says
Aie Abvember, horrendous! Well, enjoy it, if enjoy is the word!!
And happy anniversary!

Well now we know the results and can i just say hallelujah! I feel such a sense of relief that we will be getting back to civility. I hope so, anyways!
Happy anniversary to you and your hubs!
runswithpugs says
I think I feel more unsettled the week than I did last week at the same time. Ugh.
Thank you!

Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Happy anniversary! We had our wedding anniversary last week and I wish we could have done more to celebrate so I feel you!
I was into following the elections but it was so distracting trying to work through it all! Finally I disengage and then we get the results – go figure!
Have fun with Abvember…I couldn’t do it!!
runswithpugs says
Happy anniversary!
It is distracting to work through it all. I still don’t have a full handle on everything going on right now. Crazy how it’s devolving!
Abvember is awful! And awesome!

I watched all the channels too to try to understand all the perspectives. But then I turned it all off because it was consuming me. OMG that challenge is insane! We’re doing an ab challenge for ZOOMA next Jan/Feb but it’s not quite like that one. Haha!
runswithpugs says
It is consuming – it still is. I love getting all the different viewpoints, and it can be very hard not to get overwhelmed or weighed down by it all.

Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Congrats on 14 years! I’m the same way with snow storm coverage. LOL
runswithpugs says
I just can’t quit watching! It’s ridiculous!

Glad to have spent the week on messenger with you for some sanity saving. xx
Am obsessed with the new peppermint mocha k cups. They are so good and would be even better if i remembered to get a small soy milk to put with it.
runswithpugs says
I am always here for sanity saving!
I have to see if Mr PugRunner has the kcups. He has a keurig at his office and sometimes fancies it up with fun coffee.
