Well, it seems that we are finally thawing out! The arctic freeze might very well be over, and while I will miss the cold temperatures, it’s really nice to have the sun back. To be honest, the SAD had its hooks deep in me, and I am pretty glad to be moving past that.

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.13 miles, walking
Obviously, after being out until midnight, I was very happy to sleep in. I took the pugs for a walk, and then brought myself out for some miles.

I finally took down the outside Christmas decorations (yes, I’m a slacker), but let’s get to the good part. I won a flower wreath making class with 904WithUs! It was at the cutest little party shop in the next town. We had such a lovely time and I hope to go back to try different workshops!

It was a long and beautiful day, and I was totally happy when I climbed into bed that night.
Monday
- Cardio: 6.31 miles, running + .47 miles, walking
Happy Monday! It’s time to get the week going!

In fact, it wasn’t a wonderful day. Nothing worth mentioning, but I was very happy to be done.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 6.69 miles, running + .61 miles, walking
- Strength: Legs + Abs, 50 minutes
Did your girl head back to the gym after her run? She did.

Also, I headed to a little trail to show off one of my newest Alter Ego Running hats that I won in an ambassador challenge! Super cute! (Remember… use code RUNSWITHPUGS to save 10% on your next hat or AER gear).

I guess a lot of people park at the trailhead to have lunch in their cars, so I’m pretty sure a few people caught me posing for pictures. Oh well.
A went to a few local stores to start requesting donations for his Eagle project, and I headed off to an evening meeting. Not my favorite.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.71 miles, walking
It got cold overnight again, so I chose to wait for the weather to warm up. The pugs and I had a great walk together, before I headed out on my own.

I did a huge house cleaning (and yes, that Christmas tree still needs to come down, but I don’t think it will be this weekend either).
And in the evening we had book club. A lot of people bailed due to conflicts and illness, but I’m still glad I went. Our book was the Skylark’s Secret by Fiona Valpy, and the cuisine was tacos. Perfect.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6 miles, running + .71 miles, walking
- Strength: Arms + Abs
Happy Thursday! I got out and moving even though I didn’t want to. And finally I got to see the sunrise.

I had tons of work to catch up on and so I cleared that away. In the evening, Mr. PugRunner and I went out for dinner and to try a Yelp Elite spot for ice cream. Yum!
Friday
- Cardio:
Is it? Is it finally the last freaking day of this month?
After my run, it was time to pack up and head to Safety Harbor! We picked up Meghan on the way and went straight to our air BNB.

We had dinner with the crew.
And then it was off to bed with dreams of the 10K floating in our heads.
Saturday
- Cardio: BDR Safety Harbor 10K
You already know it was the Best Damn Race! Keep an eye out for the race report coming on Wednesday!

We had a blast in Safety Harbor. It’s a really pretty town with beautiful views and lots of walkable things to do.
Thoughts + Goals
So now what? We survived January, which was priority #1.
This month, I plan to start building miles a little more. Now that it’s not quite as unbearably cold in the morning, I can get out there a little earlier. I’m also hoping to build my petsitting a little more. Ive taken on a new client, but I’d like to fill the gaps with something a little less tied to my computer.

We’re thawing out too! So happy to see that bitter cold is gone. Looks like you had another busy week!
This week might be more calm.
It’s 2 degrees right now. I don’t want to leave the house.
My friend whom I visit in December ran the 10k and 5k yesterday. Her hubby ran the 5k.
Yes. I’m glad January is over. But I have a half Feb 16 another in March and another in April. Oy.
So fun! We need to get you down here for one of these!
Ooh, I’m looking forward to the race recap! I hope the weather was good (not too warm- now we have to worry about the heat again, sigh.)
Nice job getting back to the gym this week!
It was humid and gray. But it was fun, too!
I’m glad you had a good time this weekend!
Finding more work away from your computer sounds like a good idea. I love my job but it is so bad for my health!

I was made to walk dogs.
January was something else, wasn’t it? Happy to have it in the past…
Cute pugs, beautiful sunrises, lovely week.
Glad the race went well Jenn!
I don’t miss January at all.
The valentine wreath making looks fun and different! When you are not used to the cold, it must be shocking!
Especially when we don’t get transition periods. It will be 90F and then the next day 40. And there it is.
Ooh a wreath making class sounds and looks like a lot of fun! And sorry your Monday wasnt that great– but glad that the rest of the week seemed OK. We had a thaw and then it turned cold and got an ice storm! It was “feels like 15” when I ran this morning late.
Eeek! Stay warm and safe!
I’m also glad to have the extreme cold gone (and I’m ever-so-wishful it won’t be returning). That Valentine wreath looks cute!
It was so fun to make!
We’re having some nice milder weather here! Today it was like spring!
I’d feel so awkward taking selfies outside like that (unless it’s in my own garden)! I have no idea how you all do it!
Good to see I wasn’t the latest with taking down Christmas decor. And good to see you’re back in the gym!
Ha! I hate when I get caught, too!
Maybe this week, the tree will come down!
Congrats on your race! Glad it went well. Your doggies look so cute out on their walk.
I love walking them!
