The heat is on and summer is in full swing. I’ll be honest: I’m already ready for fall, or even winter, but here we are. Motivation is low. Morale is at rock bottom. But still, we must persist! Let’s start with runfessions!

For this month’s trip to the runfessional, let’s join up with Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
Let’s Start By Runfessing…
That I am exhausted! We just returned from our nephew’s wedding in North Carolina and I think I need a vacation! It was absolutely beautiful and incredible, but it was a long drive with events every day! Everything was absolutely perfect and it was so good spending time with family. We were so glad that A got to hang with all his cousins and that we got to reconnect with people we haven’t seen in ages. It was great to be there, but it’s also really good to be home!

Next, I’ll Runfess…
That next week is going to absolutely drain my will to exist. We are going to experience heat indices into the 110s, which is considered potentially fatal. I’ve already advised my clients that while their pets will be getting potty breaks, we will also be spending the majority of our visits safely inside. Am I running? Most likely not.

My Next Runfession Is…
I am going line dancing! Somewhere along the line, I found that I kind of like some country music, and the whole line dancing scene absolutely fascinates me. I know a few of the basic ones, I’ve taken a few line dancing classes at the Y, but this is an evening event with an instructor and I can’t wait to go!

I Runfess…
That I want to build a crow army. I saw a farmer on TikTok, who started feeding his crows, and they, in return, began to protect his chickens. The idea of having a murder of crows (because that’s what a group of crows is called) to do my bidding is absolutely intoxicating, and I am putting plans in place. Mr PugRunner thinks I’m crazy, but I think I got him on my side when I mentioned we could get the crows to chase the squirrels away from him tomato. Wish me luck!

Finally, I Would Runfess…
That I haven’t even glanced at a race in months. It’s not that I don’t want to race, it’s just that it’s so hot. I know there are plenty of people can handle it, but I cannot. Listen. I don’t mind walking a race, but I just don’t want to be stewing in the lava-hot temperatures. I kind of miss the race scene, but I just can’t get myself hyped up for the madness.

Do you have anything to runfess? Are you over summer?
