Starting To Celebrate Spooky Season

September 20, 2026      Leave a Comment

Would you believe I saw my first porch skeleton the other day? That means it’s official: spooky season is underway! I’m decorating a little bit at a time, and I hope I can get everything finished before our season of travel begins!

Sunday

  • Cardio: 5.02 miles, walking

Up and out! The week always feels better when it starts with a walk!

In the afternoon, J and I went to see Practical Magic 2. It was so wonderful, and really just the nostaligc thing we needed. Afterwards, we reconvened for turkey burgers and veggies at her house, and she made midnight margs, while I brought a tipsy chocolate cake. Always on theme!

Monday

  • Cardio: 6.05 miles, running

And Monday again! Things started out on a pretty positive note.

I had a pretty busy week with clients, so I had to make sure to stay on top of all the things. getting up early and getting my movement done really helps keep things going in a positive direction.

Tuesday

  • Cardio: 5.22 miles, running

Tuesday was rough, and I’m really glad I got my run in when I did. Especially under this gorgeous rainbow.

A called with a little bit of a health emergency. He’s fine, thank goodness, but he did have to visit both urgent care and the ER. Mr PugRunner took point and headed down for a couple of days to be a support system for him. I’m so glad one of us was able to be with him while he navigated the situation. All is well and we are both going to be able to see him next week!

Wednesday

  • Cardio: 4.83 miles, walking

Active rest day! I took a bit of a different route and stumbled across my first porch skeleton of the season! I love to see the festive decor! It inspired me to work on our own house.

And I even started work on some Halloween embroidery! J gifted me this kit and I am already pretty immersed!

Thursday

  • Cardio: 5.76 miles, running

It was absolutely cool out when I headed out for my run. I could have cried with joy. I almost forgot what pleasant weather felt like! I also rewarded myself with a little ghostly iced latte at a new coffee shop. I just love those little marshmallow ghosts!

Friday

  • Cardio: 6.26 miles, running

Is it possible? Two chillyish days in a row? I’ll take it! And can we talk about that sunrise? Gorgeous!

Both our husbands were out so J and I had a very impromptu spooky get together. I had some little ghostly painting kits. She made midnight margaritas, and I picked up some tortilla soup, and we enjoyed a lovely little craft hour. It was just enough.

Saturday

  • Cardio: 3 miles, walking

I slept in a little this morning, so I didn’t have much time for more than a 3 mile walk. I didn’t mind. I’m tired, and I’ve been a little sore. On the plus side, I saw two more yard skellies on my journey!

I made my way through pet work and computer work, while catching up on the new Lizzie Borden series. Of course, I’m all about spooky things.

And speaking of spooky, Mr. PugRunner grabbed a new friend! While I really want a 12′ skeleton for the yard, i’m just as happy with this 5′ poseable one with glowing eyes! We are brainstorming ways to dress her up to add to the effect!

Thoughts + Goals

Things were a little stressful this week. The college experience is a learning curve for all of us. I’m so grateful that we are close enough to help if we are needed.

In the meantime, my schedule is pretty hectic. That means I have to work even harder to squeeze in my little side quests and adventures. As silly as it seems, I need those little bright spots to keep me motivated and moving, especially on the harder weeks.

It was a beautiful morning that turned quickly into a beautiful day. Sundays are hard because they are immediately followed by Mondays, and Mondays are hard.

Lots to catch up on this week! April is chock full of holidays, birthdays, days off, and events, so let’s get to it!

About this morning… I was up and out early to dri About this morning…

I was up and out early to drive to Flagler Beach for the #Missionpossible5k.

It was a small, well organized event, with an easy-to-follow course (the last mile was almost exclusively an ocean view), with great shirts and swag.

I was really pleased with my performance, and even more pleased with this beach sunrise. I’ll share more on the #RunnersRundown on Wednesday, so stay tuned!

Where did you run or race this weekend?

Oh, hello long sleeves. I’m here for it. So good Oh, hello long sleeves. I’m here for it.

So good to stretch the legs today. I was super sore after a @runsmartofficial cross training session last night, and needed to just get out there and let the fresh air work its magic.

What are you up to today? I really need to take a moment with my calendar and get some plans locked into place.

Check out those blue skies! I got to sleep in AND Check out those blue skies!

I got to sleep in AND take advantage of some cooler temps. It really didn’t warm up until my last mile and that was just fine.

I feel like this month and next are really just flying by. So much is going on, and I want so badly to enjoy it all, including the crisp, sunny days where we find them!

Happy Monday! I don’t know about you all, but you Happy Monday!

I don’t know about you all, but your girl is TIRED. It is so hard to roll out of bed some mornings. Ugh.

I managed (finally) and banked six miles in some gross humidity. And now it’s time for some self care and then back to work.

Also. We have somehow acquired a pecan tree? Any tips on the growth and care of this would be greatly appreciated!

Sunday fun day! Just a short walk to start the da Sunday fun day!

Just a short walk to start the day and work out some stiffness. Some days, my ankle just doesn’t want to cooperate 🫤

I have been making graphics and content all day for a client, and now I’m about to do hair and makeup for a little event. Wheee!

This week is going to be BUSY! There’s a lot of changes to the regular routines (nails, a digital learning day, after school and weekend programming) and I have a race on Saturday and bocce ball on Sunday!

Who else is ready to dive in?!
