We’ve got some Canes over here, and things are good! Full disclosure: I have stopped rooting for football (and a lot of sports) for a variety of reasons, but I am married to a sports guy, and have lots of sports-loving friends, so there will be sportsball on the calendar. This week, we traveled to South Florida for a Miami Hurricanes game. As an alum, I leaned into the orange and green, but was even more excited to spend time with friends.

Sunday
- Cardio: 3.44 miles, walking
I was down to one client, twice a day, which gave me some much-needed breathing room. A lot is going on right now and I’m scrambling to keep up with it. Since I was already out of the neighborhood, I treated myself to a walk in a different location. It was a lovely way to clear my head before making it back to the pugs on the couch.

Mr PugRunner went to a concert with some friends that night. While I missed hanging out, concerts aren’t really my thing, so I was pretty happy chilling at home, watching the end of East of Eden.
Kitchen update: we are pretty stripped down. The best news is there was no mold or water damage. After almost 20 years, you just never know.

Monday
- Cardio: 4.51 miles, running
These 4:30AM wake up calls are getting a little tiresome, but I’m pulling through. I was a little proactive, and snagged my iced coffee before my client rounds and run, so I was ready to caffeinate the minute I got back in the car. It was perfect timing.

I got stood up for a meeting, which was annoying, but it gave me time to go home and be available for kitchen progress and questions. We have mostly everything decided, but little things pop up here and there. Our contractor has been really amazing so far, and he brings so many great ideas to the table. We are open to little shifts along the way and it’s nice that he’s bringing us fresh ideas and things to consider.

Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.25 miles, running
Another great run. The weather has, for once, been perfect, and I am eating it up! I’m also loving the Halloween decorations in the neighborhood.

The pugs are over the renovations, but they are being troopers. They are going to be so happy to have everything all done.

Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.27 miles, walking
It’s the middle of the week and getting closer to the weekend. It’s been in the 50s in the morning, which makes everything so much lovelier. I had a great walk, and it was my last day with my clients! I was ready for a break.

In the evening, Mr PugRunner and I went to the local wildflower farm for a wine tasting. It was a beautiful way to spend the night: very peaceful. I needed the time in nature.

Thursday
- Cardio: 6.55 miles, running
Back to running on another beautiful morning. I even got to meet up with J for a little bit. That was nice.

I spent the day packing and trying to get organized. A lot of progress was made in the kitchen as well, with the upper and lower cabinets being painted. It’s getting exciting!

Friday
- Cardio: 4.33 miles, running
TGIF! I had to get out in the dark because we had a busy morning.

Once I got home, we got ready to hit the road. I drove all the way to Delray, in the most wildly awful rainstorm. I95 flooded and I was so ready to be out of the car.
We met my college roommate and her family at a local bar for dinner and a cover band, and I finally had to call it at 11PM.
Saturday
- Cardio: 1 mile, walking
Happy Hurricanes Day! We had to meet at 8:10AM to head to the tailgate for a noon kickoff, so I took myself to the hotel treadmill for a mile.

We armed ourselves with coffee, and made our way to the Hard Rock! Mr PugRunner even got asked to be on a video for UMHealth… they saw they we had a veggie tray at our tailgate and wanted to talk to us about healthy habits at parties LOL! We had to quickly hide our handles, but it was hilarious.

After the game (a Hurricanes win), we went to another sports bar and ended staying through two overtimes to watch the unranked UCF beat #2 BYU!
I about collapsed into bed and was out in seconds.
Thoughts + Goals
The name of the game is keeping my head above water right now. It’s a lot. I’m doing what I can, when I can. And that’s all there is to that.
