This is a sponsored post for Kona Kase. I received one complimentary Kona Kase for purposes of review. All opinions are my own.
Last week, I had blogged about different fuels to use for longer runs. You fabulous readers came back and responded with so many wonderful suggestions, from gels to blocks, to protein bars to drinks. There were almost too many options from which to choose, and I wasn’t even sure where to start.
This is why the subscription-based Kona Kase is a stroke of genius, and why, when they asked if they could send me one to check out, I was happy to say yes.
Mine arrived within a few days. I love getting mail.
When you sign up for a subscription, Kona Kase will send you a very similar box, packed with eight different nutritional items, complete with information about each of the brands.
It’s a little health food sampler, if you will.
I love the included inspirational quote. It gives a little bit of extra motivation and it’s such a nice touch.
The June Kona Kase included everything shown above. I love KIND bars, but have not yet tried the Madagascar Vanilla Almond, so that will be a special treat. I am intrigued by the Mamma Chia Strawberry Banana Chia Squeeze. So many people rave about the benefits of chia seeds and ti’s something I haven’t attempted to try on my own. Now I have no excuses.
I think that the 18 Rabbits and the Dr Will Bars will be perfect to pack in my bag as a little post-race pick me up. And while I enjoy the hydration drink I’m currently using, I like that I have another option in the Osmo Nutrition blackberry mix to try without having to commit to a whole package.
And those Half-Pops? Just sound like a delicious, crunchy snack for whenever. Of course, I’m a huge popcorn lover, so it’s a given that my taste buds would be drawn directly to them.
Products change from month-to-month, so subscribers are sure to get a variety of goodies to try out. If you really like a particular item, Kona Kase even provides some discount codes so you can order your favorites directly at a reduced price. You can’t go wrong.
Kona Kase is a great concept, and it’s a perfect gift for yourself or your favorite athlete. Shipping is always free with your order, and there are multi-month discounts available. Check out Kona Kase for more information on past products and how to order your very own.

Hi Jenn! Nice review! That’s a pretty cool concept for trying out different types of fuel for running. I might have to check them out and see what they have to offer! How is your training going by the way?

It really is. There are just so many choices out there and it’s nice to be able to try a little bit of everything without committing to something you may not like.
Training is on hold. My tonsils came out on Thursday and it took me about 15 minutes to do a walk that normally takes me three. I knew it was going to be a hard road back, and it’s very discouraging, but it’s the right call. I have my followup on Wednesday, so hopefully I will be feeling better and will have some good news from the ENT as to when I can start getting back on track.
