Mary Beth, my fellow ZOOMA Florida Ambassador, over at Tutus and Tennies, posted this little getting-to-know-you-better challenge, that she found via The Fit Foodie Mama. Since today, January 1, is going to be a light day, as we recover from staying up way too late and help Mr PugRunner celebrate his birthday, I decided to play along.
Four names people call me other than my real name:
- Mom
- Jenn
- J-Vo
- I don’t think I have another one. People don’t seem to give me nicknames.
Four jobs I have held:
- cashier at Michael’s
- receptionist at an employment recruiting office
- advertising manager for a shipping magazine
- marketing director for a sporting event
Four movies I have watched more than once:
- Gone With The Wind
- Rudy
- Star Wars
- Steel Magnolias
- *this question is kind of unfair because I love movies and watch tons of them repeatedly. It would be easier to pull four I HAVEN’T watched more than once.
Four books I would recommend:
- She’s Come Undone – Wally Lamb
- Les Miserables – Victor Hugo
- The Book Thief – Marcus Zusak
- Harry Potter series – JK Rowling
- again, as an avid reader, it’s hard to stop at just four. Or even forty. But these are the four that came to my mind first.
Four places I have been:
- Rome
- Venice
- Paris
- London
Four things I don’t eat:
- Runny eggs
- Oranges
- Jello
- Most meats
Four of my favorite foods:
- Sushi – a good spicy tuna roll goes a long way
- Ice cream
- Baked potatoes
- Brie
Four TV shows I watch:
- Game of Thrones
- Gotham
- The People’s Couch
- Outlander
- I really just don’t watch TV, so this list was actually hard to compile. It would be nice to be able to get into a show but so few hold my interest and I get distracted and never come back to them.
Four things I am looking forward to in 2015:
- Finishing my first marathon
- Family vacation
- A girls’ trip with my mom
- Spending time with family and friends.
And there it is. If you’re reading this, go ahead and post your responses or on your own blog, and be sure to share with us some of your “fours” in the comments below.
Happy New Year!

Fun lists! I think I started this one once and I got stuck on the nicknames. Maybe I’ll try again. Maybe I DO have nicknames that I don’t know about! LOL! Your favorite food list is so diverse!

LOL! I really don’t have a lot of nicknames. I don’t know why.
I love food. It’s hard to pick just four.

I have heard Outlander is great. I’ll have to find a way to watch it, it isn’t on any of the channels I get.

Amazing. The books are better, of course, but I do love the show to pieces. I don’t do any streaming or anything like that, so I have no idea how to watch stuff that isn’t in our DTV lineup.

Oh I love this, and I hope you don’t mind, but I will use this theme for a blog post later this month.
I couldn’t read she’s come undone. A friend recommended it, and I got about a 3rd of the way, and I was like “i just can’t invest anymore in this book, it’s just not doing it for me”. I do love harry potter though.
Books can be a funny thing when it comes to recommendations.

I don’t mind at all! The more the merrier!
I think I was so amazed at how Wally Lamb wrote such a complex and true female character. I also really, really, really related to Dolores in a lot of ways, so I’m sure that helped. I love all his books and his writing style, though.
With books, I tend to go for deeper, darker stories and writing quality and character development. I don’t usually enjoy the light, syrupy stuff, but go for the more uncomfortable literature. The longer the better, because I can tear through a book in hours.
