Happy Spring! We have two more weeks til Easter! I can’t believe it’s gone so fast!
I was hoping things would settle down a bit after Spring Break, but it seems that we’re just entering into yet another cycle of go go go, and so it’s time to buckle down and make things happen.
Here’s how last week shook out.
Sunday – rest
Sometimes, rest days are pretty full. We had to pick up little man from his weekend, and grab lunch, and then I had to go to a nearby church for a photo shoot.
It was my very first First Holy Communion session, and it went great.
Monday – rest
It was nice to sleep in a little and just lounge around. Little man is struggling with some seasonal allergies, so we took a lazy, easy day. We don’t get too many of them, so when we do, we savor them.
Tuesday – 3.1 miles
St. Patrick’s Day! I already recapped that last week, but just adding the miles in for the week.
Wednesday – rest
Mr PugRunner and little man left in the morning for a two-day boys’ trip to Universal Studios!
I loved getting to see their photos from the day!
In the meantime, I had to run errands, clean and edit photos. I did take a quick break to meet Nana and Papa Bear for lunch at a beach front restaurant.
Later on, I wasn’t in the mood to cook, so I went to dinner at Cabana Grill.
There’s still time to win one of two $20 gift cards! Visit here to enter!
Thursday – 3.1 miles
I had a great run in the morning! Fastest one ever!
And then it was off to deliver photos.
Afterwards, I drove up to my parents’ neck of the woods to watch Cinderella!
I mostly loved it. Cinderella was never one of my favorite animated Disney classics, so I loved getting to see more of the backstory and getting to know the main character a little more. Lily James’ voice got a leeeeetle too syrupy sweet sometimes, but Cate Blanchett’s turn as Lady Tremain, the costumes and sets more than made up for it.
The boys got home in time for dinner, and it was so good to see them!
Friday – rest
I was scheduled for work all day, so Mr PugRunner arranged for my parents to get him (have we mentioned how amazing they are? No? They are) for the weekend so he could get in some work hours.
They went to the beach, and I loved getting pictures of the shark teeth they collected. I never find anything cool at the beach.
After a long, but productive day, Mr PugRunner and I headed out for a sushi date. Service was really slow, but it was worth it for this spicy tuna roll and lobster tempura roll. Yum.
Saturday – rest
Another day of work.
Mr PugRunner took Papa Bear to the NCAA basketball games at the local arena. March Madness is upon us and it was nice for them to get to see two games up close and personal.
While they were out, I picked up dinner and ate on the couch, watching A Million Ways to Die in the West. It wasn’t phenomenal, but I did laugh a little. And then I fell asleep at an embarrassingly early hour.
This marks another week where I’ve neglected my cross-training. It’s been really hard getting giveback on track with that, but it has to happen. Ugh. I can already feel it in my hips and I’m hoping some consistent core work will benefit my breathing. I’m annoyed with myself for not making more of an effort, but I also have to listen to my body and if I’m too tired or run down, then I’m going to burn out all the faster. I am hoping to build in one day back at boot camp this week and go from there.
How was your week in training?
Do you ever find cool things on the beach?

I went to the beach this past weekend, and I only saw a jellyfish. I never find shark teeth.

Ahhhhhh that picture from Nobmre de Dios completely makes my day! That’s my favorite spot in St. Augustine!
Ummm congratulations on your fastest 5K that’s incredible!
I’m pretty amazed at how many shark teeth that’s really cool.

It’s so pretty over there! They are doing a ton of construction on the church, but I’m sure it will be beautiful when complete.
Problem with that many shark teeth is that you have to figure they are coming from actual sharks. We are seeing them in the waters more and more down here and that terrifies me. It’s their ocean, obviously, but people aren’t smart about it. There was a sighting near the Jax Beach Pier last week, and apparently, everyone ran out of the water. And then RAN BACK IN TO TAKE PICTURES!!!!! :headdesk:

🙂 There are some definite perks. But, the grass is always greener. I would love to live closer to Manhattan.

Sounds like you had a nice week! I’m jealous of your easy day in the beginning, I’m desperate for one of those! I’d like to go see Cinderella too. Thanks for the input, it’s great to know if it’s worth seeing!
Training… not so good this week. I ran 3 on Tues but skipped Thurs. I wound up having a longer day than intended and just couldn’t get myself on the treadmill at 9 pm. Sunday, I had planned to run a 5 miler nearby, but the conditions were… well, miserable. So I opted out. I would have sucked it up and done it anyway, but I haven’t run out in the cooler weather at all since the fall. 29 degrees with 20 mph winds… I had to take a pass!
Hoping this week goes better. I’ll be heading to FL on Thursday to horse show, so hopefully I’ll have time down there to run outdoors!
I never find cool stuff at the beach either. Mostly cigarette butts and other disgusting trash. People are so gross.

It’s going to rain all this week. I don’t have high hopes for anything good.
Yay for Florida! Can’t wait to hear how the show goes!

I think my favorite Cinderella version is Ever After. It’s not quite true to the Disney version, but I enjoyed it the most.
Definitely go see it.

I’ve never been to an ocean beach so your pictures make me jealous! I’ve been to Lake Michigan’s beach which feels like the ocean because you can’t see the other side, though. Does that count? I haven’t found anything interesting that I remember. Glad you enjoyed Cinderella! I’m trying to decide if Campbell would sit through it.

Are there waves on Lake Michigan? I guess if there are waves, it maybe counts?
You need to get yourself to an ocean beach, girl!
I didn’t take little man, but there were a lot of kids in the theater, and the only one who had a hard time was a little boy who was maybe two. It dragged a little bit here and there for me, but I think younger kids would love it.

Ok, sharks teeth from the beach is pretty cool . . . if I want anything “cool” from the beach, I have to go early in the morning — I’ve often found full-conch shells for my sunrise runs while on vacation. But sharks’ teeth? Well, they’d be even cooler.

My mom is an expert shell-er (is that a thing?). She has found conch shells, sand dollars, sea stars, and her latest is tons of sea glass! It’s awesome and I admit to being a little jealous.
