weekly wrap: 10.22.17 – 10.28.17

Happy Monday!  It’s time for the Weekly Wrap with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin!

WeeklyWrap

If you do a weekly recap post, this is a great way to check in with other active bloggers for extra support, sharing and accountability!

Let’s do this!

Sunday – rest

Rest, glorious rest. Guys, I love my rest days. And I love spending them with my family. Truly.

Monday – rest

Mondays are never really full rest days for me, just because it’s the start of the week and getting things going again. I thought I was going to have to work late, but everything ended up working out, and Mr PugRunner took over karate duty, which eased up my schedule quite a bit.

Tuesday – 6.75 miles, running

It was a good run with S. I have been really loving the morning runs and was proud of almost hitting seven for the day.

We went in to school early to announce the final winners of our fundraising week, and after work, it was time for just a little bit of downtime. We went to the local pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins for carving and managed to snag some real beauties.

Wednesday – rest

Last day of work for the week, and I was glad for it. Mr PugRunner helped out with karate again, which was nice. I used the free time to finish our Halloween decorations and try to get a little more in the spirit of things.

Thursday – 7 miles, running

Since I had a race coming up on Saturday, I pushed for a little longer on Thursday. The temperate had also dropped down into the low 50s, so that made things easier for running.

I had errands for the day, and then I had to get ready for our Scout Pack Meeting. It was the first time this year that my den was getting mega awards, and I was so proud and excited for the boys and all their hard work.

Little man walked away with four badges and awards, which was so great. And all of our new pack members received their Bobcat, which every scout needs. They were all so awesome.

Friday – rest

The bad news this week was that my TMJ acted up. I don’t know if it was stress or the change in the weather, but my jaw had locked up on Thursday and I was a hurting unit. Talking was hard, eating was worse, and so I just kind of rolled with it. I was getting to the point of hangry and struggled hard to eat the sushi Mr PugRunner brought home for dinner.

We watched part of a movie and I turned in early.

Saturday – Durbin Trail Mix Relay, 6 miles

I was really excited about the Durbin Trail Mix Relay – it was a race directed by two of my dear friends and I was really looking forward to supporting them. I will do a full recap soon, but it was such a great event.

I ran the first, six mile leg of the relay, followed by two awesome teammates. We overcame mud and roots and all kinds of water and muck, for a strong finish.

While we were finishing up, Mr PugRunner took little man to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, while I came home to whip up a quick appetizer for a neighborhood Halloween party.

Little man is a little overwhelmed by Halloween this year. We are getting to the age where the kids are watching scarier movies and wearing creepier costumes. He’s still not at all into any of that, so there is some trepidation. As a result, he wanted to leave the party early, so I tagged out to take him home and chill out.

This week is another busy one. I finally got that massage I booked. It’s Halloween, full of parties and get togethers. And on Friday, I head out of town for Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon, 5K and 1 Mile Remix Challenge! (Remember, code RNB15 saves you on select RNR races through the end of the year!)

And Mr PugRunner and I will be celebrating 11 years of wedded bliss!

October miles came in strong at 80. I was hoping for a few more, but I played it smart this weekend at the trail. The plan was to run two legs for 12 miles, but I rolled my ankle several times and decided not to risk it. It was probably the right choice, although I would have like to see the additional miles in my log.

How was your week in training?

Any special Halloween plans?

Sorry to hear about your TMJ. My brother used to suffer from it (not sure if he still does) but it’s definitely not a fun thing to deal with. Sounds like a great week otherwise!

What a good week you have had! I hope your Little Man enjoys Scouting. All of my boys are Eagle Scouts and they have learned so many valuable lessons that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

I had a jaw issue earlier this week. It kept popping out and it was so painful! I’m not sure what brought it on (I blame RA for everything but probably not this). I’m so glad it’s gone.

I totally get your little guy’s thing with Halloween. My youngest was never a fan. He would trick or treat for only a short time and then he wanted to come home. I never understood it.

Happy Anniversary! And good luck at RnR Savannah. It’s on my list.

Sounds like another very full week! Nice work out there on the trail, sorry about the ankle, hope it’s ok! I think trail running is really hard. Turns into a lot of trail walking when I attempt it.
My actual training has been really weak, but I did run 5 miles in a relay with my best friend this weekend. It was ridiculously fun!
