So, I got a little excited last week, and jumped the gun on the incredible Ultimate Coffee Date. Oops. However, I am always up for drinking coffee and sharing with friends, so I’m happy for a redo!
Join us for this month’s Ultimate Coffee Date. After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.
I am going to reuse this coffee shot because of a certain precious pug.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
I have been working hard on the August Wellness Month. It is my hope that I treat myself right, but I definitely forgo a lot in the beauty and maintenance department. Pre-COVID19, I liked getting dip powder manicures, and I did love getting my hair done, but that was it. I haven’t spent much time on hair or makeup, but I’m planning to stay true to the challenge, even when it means drinking six glasses of water in a day.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That I can’t handle this dog. Cannot. She is so feisty and sassy. Her training is coming along well, although we do have some bad habits (trying to climb to the top of everything being one of them), but we are working on it.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That I am absurdly excited for Shark Week. It starts on Sunday and I put together a fun little post about things you can do to help amp up the excitement. I can’t wait.
Over coffee, I would tell you…
That little man has really taken to skateboarding and I love it. We have a few open skate parks around town, and he is learning tricks, ramps, and other cool things that I would never in a million years attempt. It’s a surprisingly great activity, and absolutely checks our social distancing boxes. Oh, he was also elected Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for his Scouts Troop, so that’s pretty big news.
Over coffee, I would you…
That I have signed up for the Best Damn Race Oregon Trail Virtual Race. Participants can form wagons of up to six people, to complete a distance of 2000 miles over 35 weeks. There are ten checkpoints, virtual badges, a gorgeous medal, and all kinds of great retro challenges along the way (What happens when a wagon wheel breaks? You have to hop in a wagon to find out!) Want to join in the fun? Sign up here (affiliate link).
What’s new in your world?
What would you share over coffee?

That little pug makes the cutest faces – they get me every time! I’m glad that training is going well overall and hopefully she will break that bad habit!
I love that your little man is so active and loves to try new things!

Not doing my hair or makeup has been one of my favorite parts of quarantine! I am tempted by the Oregon Trail challenge…

I am not wearing much make up these days but I did get my hair done this week and it felt good. I am kind of over the virtual races for now. Hoping to get back to pain free running in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for joining for coffee!

I bet it felt great!
I don’t want to do any solitary virtual aces, but I am good for some challenges that will help scratch some longterm itches.
Marcia says
OMG that sassy face is too cute! Congrats to your little man on his scouts patrol position. It’s great he’s been able to stay so busy. I finally got a haircut but it’s been eons since i had a mani or pedi.
runswithpugs says
She is the sassiest! I really miss dip manicures. I thought about trying it at home, but it’s pricey to get started.

I could use some self-care these days! I haven’t worn make up since all of this started in March. I miss getting my nails done!
runswithpugs says
I just desperately want something done to my hair. I can dye it but I don’t know how to do something funky.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I used to watch Shark Week, but haven’t for the last few years. It was on during our time at the beach a few years.
Congrats to Little Man! You must be very proud!
runswithpugs says
That’s a great reason not to watch LOL! I am so proud of him.
Kimberly Hatting says
That Oregon Trail challenge looks fun! Also, a great history lesson 😉
runswithpugs says
Absolutely to both!
Wendy says
Cocoa is trouble as well. I love the sassy personality but oh boy! She’s still injured but just picks up the injured leg and hobbles on the other 3. I don’t know what to do about her?
runswithpugs says
Oh, sweet girl! What did the vet say? The sass is so strong. So. Strong.
Coco says
Honestly, it was our fault from pushing our coffee date to a week later. Love your sassy pug photo, and that’s an awesome photo of your son on his skateboard! I love the idea of a “wellness” month. I have been slacking on my water lately.
runswithpugs says
Not a problem at all! I am always happy to drink coffee and let it all spill!
He loves that skateboard and is now saving to purchase the components to build his own.

You guys are all so creative!
I am not a high maintenance person, as is evident from embracing my gray long before this time. Just didn’t like the maintenance of coloring. Don’t get my nails done. Used to do it myself sometimes but seriously what’s the point? Even the home gel ones just seem to chip off anyway.
I do really, really, really miss massages. I could get one, but that truly seems unsafe to me.
runswithpugs says
I don’t know how creative we are LOL! Just trying to have some fun.
If I go gray, I want to just dye the whole mess of it. I don’t know. I don’t mind gray, actually. I’m thinking about an icy blond, next, which would get me on my way. The dip mani would last almost a month, which is why I loved it so much.
Yeah. Some of the spas and massage places are open, and that is right on the list of places you couldn’t pay me to go right now.
Liz Dexter says
Your boy is doing so well – lovely to see. And pug pics are always good! We’re having a heat wave here – nothing like what you get but too much for me …
Michelle D. says
Luna is just too damn cute 🙂
Shark week is always a big hit in my house!
Farrah says
I reallyyy need to work on drinking more water, haha. I’m terrible at doing that (but good at telling other people to…)!
hahaha, the Oregon Trail challenge sounds awesome! I loved that game when I was growing up–that’s great that they adapted it into a race!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
I hadn’t heard of the Oregon Trail challenge…that sounds like fun and definitely takes me back to playing on the “vintage” computer in the 90’s lol! It seems that your running recovery has been going well!
So cool that your son is a skater! I can’t even stand on one, and I’ve tried, lol!
