The truth is that I have really needed running, walking, and outdoor time more now than pretty much ever in my life. Isn’t that strange? One foot in front of the other, I guess.
Sunday
- Cardio: 3.05 miles, walking
We had a very late night at the baseball game, so I was dragging for this walk.
Honestly, I was dragging the entire day. I think we all were. And that’s quite alright.
Monday
- Cardio: 4.11 miles, running + walking (beach)
I was really happy to get to spend time at the beach. The weather was super overcast, too, which makes things absolutely lovely. The tide was higher than I would have liked, but I had a good outing and made it back to the car just before the rain hit.
Little man started his second week of work/volunteering and so went our days.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 7.41 miles, running + walking
Up and at ’em early! J and I had a decent run together. I really cherish having someone to share these morning hours with – we spend a lot of time chatting and processing and it’s so valuable.
I was pretty productive in the kitchen this week: check out these yummy Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps!
Wednesday
- Cardio: 4.02 miles, walking
For once, I was super excited to get through Wednesday’s walk. Wheeee.
Because I had a hair appointment! Yay! I love the colors and the layers. So fun to get something different.
Thursday
- Cardio: 6.28 miles, running + walking
This was a big day! Huge!
First, this run helped me to complete my Streaking With The Cool Kids challenge for the month of June. Crushed it!
Second, I found out I won a pretty awesome prize from Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Co. and Party Can: a prize of the adult beverage variety. Yay! And third, we had a game night with friends, and that was much needed and super fun.
Friday
- Cardio: 3.88 miles, walking
The streak continues. Day 366 of one mile a day got logged.
The first part of my prize showed up at the house and wow! This is Natalie’s bar mixer assortment, and how cute is that shirt?
Saturday
- Cardio: 9.87 miles. running + walking
This was fabulous. I got up super early to get in some miles before snagging J on my route. It’s a system that’s working really well, and I felt super confident.
And then the second part of the prize pack arrived! Wheeee! I got two Party Cans (each can holds 12 premixed cocktails) and a little cocktail kit to make our own drinks at home. So cute and I can’t want to try everything!
Goal-getting + Thoughts
So what’s been going on? Well, I’ve been digging in pretty deeply to a new project, and I think it’s time to give a peek.
This is First Coast Favorites, my newest passion project. It’s a way to showcase some of the incredible dates night, activities and travels my area of the First Coast has to offer. My plan is to share 50 First (Coast) Date ideas, as well as local favorites and tips.

Fresh hair makes a world of difference!

Totally understand the need for more outside time due to all the craziness of the world. Love your new hair color and cut – it really frames your face well!
Those Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps look amazingly delicious!
runswithpugs says
Thank you!
And the wraps were so easy to make: no need for a recipe, really. That’s my favorite way to cook!
Liz Dexter says
Nice hair cut! I really need to get mine sorted, way too long at the minute!
runswithpugs says
I want it a bit longer, but then it’s so hot and not as healthy. Oh, well. I hope you are able to get a trim!
Jessie says
Congrats on the new project, it looks amazing! Way to go!
That prize is incredible! And the wraps you made look really tasty.
Fun week!
runswithpugs says
Thank you! It’s been a crazy week for sure!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
You are SO creative! I love your first coast dates idea! Good luck with that!
We had some really stunning weather (after a couple of days of not great weather). I spent a lot of the day outside soaking up Vitamin D — even if I stay in the shade!

would love some stunning weather, instead of this suffocating weather. It’s almost too hot to move.
Darlene says
Yes. A visit to the hairdresser definitely lifts your mood. Your hair looks great.
Good luck with your new project.
And congrats on your streak.
Running is therapy. I don’t know what I’d do without it. ESP runs with friends.
runswithpugs says
Seriously. I tell my therapist friend all the time that he should offer running sessions. He could ride on a bike or scooter and carry tissues and water, and his clients could just run and pour their hearts out. He would make kajillions.
Coco says
Congrats on your new project! I bet you have a lot of great date ideas. You always seem to be doing something fun.
And speaking of fun, what a cool prize pack!
I hope you have a good week!
runswithpugs says
Lots of fun things for sure this week!
Jenny says
First coast favorites is a perfect project for you. I’ve always noticed that you do tons of fun things. I wish I lived in your area!
That picture of you running on the beach was instantly soothing. An overcast run on the beach must have been the perfect way to clear your mind- I need to get to the beach more.
That is an amazing prize- you are ready for a PARTY!
runswithpugs says
I don’t feel much like partying, but I am happy to share cocktails with those who need a soft spot to land.
We try to do fun stuff, and I love sharing about it.
Cari says
Chatting and processing indeed. That was much of last week’s “races”
That party pack prize looks great. Such a valuable prize too because if winners like it, there is more business
Love the hair!
runswithpugs says
So much more business. I don’t love juice, but this stuff is SOOOOO good.
Kimberly Hatting says
New hair for the win!! I have an appointment this week, as well. Congrats on getting to Day 366 (and beyond) 😉

You scored some fun prizes!
Congrats on the new project – I have no doubt that you’ll have some fun ideas to share! And it’s great to see you continue to crush that streak!
runswithpugs says
I am going to officially launch in August. It didn’t feel authentic to do it for 4th of July. I wasn’t much into the day.
Michele Heller says
Those lettuce wraps look amazing. Congrats on completing your Streaking with the Cool Kids. I love things like that to motivate you. Looks like a great week. I am jealous of that beach run, looks beautiful.
runswithpugs says
The lettuce wraps were awesome. And so easy!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I love your new haircut, both blown out and curlier in the First Coast Favorites picture.
I smiled when you referred to A as Little Man again. It’s been a while since I’ve read that. 🙂
runswithpugs says
I usually just do curly. It’s easier. But when the stylist
does it, I love it so much.
He’s not so little anymore!
Stacie Seidman says
Love the new hair! That prize is amazing. And congrats on the new project! All kinds of exciting things happening!
runswithpugs says
Thank you and omg isn’t it? I can’t wait for my friend to come so we can try all the drinks.
