Gourd workouts? What? Yes, I’m leaning into fall and spooky season with my whole heart, and I decided that lifting pumpkin can be just as good as lifting weights.
What can we do with our favorites gourds?
Pumpkin Swings
Pumpkins can be a great size and shapes for kettlebell swings. Simply grab that pumpkin by the sides, dip into your squat, and let ‘er swing. Holding a gourd might also help your control: if you don’t perform this move with self-discipline, you run the chance of flinging and smashing your pumpkin! What a scary thought.
Pumpkin Twists
This core favorite is perfect for pumpkins! Replace your favorite weighted ball with a Halloween gourd, get in positions and start twisting! Different size pumpkins will obviously offer different results.
Pumpkin Squats
Who doesn’t love a good squat? There are so many variations on the theme, and all of them can be done with weights. Or pumpkins. Whatever works.
Pumpkin Marches
Slow marches holding a weight above your head is a great exercise for balance, stability, and core. When that weight becomes a pumpkin, it’s even more fun!
