As of this moment, I am gearing up for ZOOMA Amelia Island. It’s been a hot minute since I ran any part of this event, and I’m starting to get excited.
What do I have on my to-do list?
Finish Training Strong
I think it goes without saying that this hasn’t been my strongest training cycle. Sometimes, it’s like that. I know I can absolutely complete the distance, but it could be better. So I’m just going to put my head down and get in these next few days with purpose.
Be Prepared For The Weather
The weather has been weird here. Some mornings have been freezing, others hot and humid. I’m planning for shorts but may have to bring a long-sleeved top with me. We shall see. I’m probably going to overpack.
Remembering How To Pack
I haven’t been on a racecation in AGES. Do I remember how to pack for one? I guess we’ll find out.
Taking It All In
It’s been a while since I have been able to really dig in and enjoy a running experience. I miss these days and I’m excited to get that feeling back. There was a time when I was at a race more weekends than not, and I would love the chance to recapture the excitement that went along with that.t Hopefully this is a catalyst for a fuller racing season for me!
Will I see you at ZOOMA Amelia Island?

Long sleeve shirt??????? Northern Florida is sure different than South Florida- we’re still so hot and humid here. I hope you have great weather for the race. And I hope you enjoy it to the fullest- good luck!

Good luck in your race! Its been SO long since i went on a racecation. Im sure it will be hard to pack for one! I feel like its necessary to be over prepared and bring lots of options since you never know what the weather will do.
