Whether or not you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I always associate this time of year with gratitude, and this grateful runner has some things to share.
I haves so much gratitude for so many things, and while it’s a little cheesy, I love spreading the love.
I Am Grateful For Running Buddies
Running can be a hard and draining sport. Running buddies make it so much more manageable, and help me keep my motivation high. I am fortunate to have running friends I see often, those I see less frequently, and running friends from the virtual space. It’s the best.
I Am Grateful To Have Run A Half Marathon After Injury
Big injuries can lead to physiological, mental, and emotional setbacks that can be tough to overcome. It took me some time to get my head back in the game and get out there. The DONNA Half Marathon was NOT the comeback race I wanted (and I don’t think it was the one I needed), but I know I can do it. So now to time to plan the next.
I Am Grateful To Live In A Place Where I Can Run Outside Pretty Much Year Round
Honestly, this is one of the few bright spots about where I currently live. Even on the coldest days, I can pretty much get outside for physical activity. The boost of Vitamin D works wonders for my mental health, and there’s just something about fresh air that makes me happy.
I Am Grateful For All The Places Running Has Brought Me
Thanks to running, I have gotten to see so many neat places. Traveling is a love of mine, so to be able to combine the two is definitely a plus.
I Am Grateful For The Challenge
I’m a person who does love a challenge, and I’m grateful running provides that for me. Every day comes with its own hills and valleys, and running has surely helped me stay on top of it all.
As a runner, what are you grateful for?

I’m grateful for my running friends both in-person and virtual and that I am healthy enough to race. If you are ever injured, you know how important that it. And that I have safe places to run all year long.
