Florida is really messing with my head. It’s cold; it’s hot. The sun is shining; nope, the fog and gloom are here. This girl looks a chilly Christmas with cozy sweaters and pajamas, so fingers crossed we can stop playing hide and seek with winter!
Sunday
- Cardio: 2.21 miles, walking
I didn’t have time for a walk in the morning. We had family photos scheduled and I had to do hair and makeup. Do I have pictures of that? Nope. Here’s a peacock instead.
I did get a few miles in the afternoon when we walked to the community center for food trucks and a little holiday festival. Nothing major.
Monday
- Cardio: 5.89 miles, running + walking
As much as I hoped we were done with the insane humidity, the morning was just soggy. Yuck. The run was good, though, and that’s what matters.
Mr PugRunner and I had a date at the flooring warehouse, choosing some new floors for the house. It’s not exactly what I wanted (hardwood everywhere), but it will get us through the next few years.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 4.46 miles, walking
Sometimes, the workouts are boring. It is what it is.
I had several deadlines to hit, so I really tried to spend the day in hard focus. I also had a big committee meeting in the evening, which was very much not so fun.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.87 miles, walking + running
Alright. Now things start getting interesting. I had a solid run. Really solid.
In the evening, we went to The Tasting Tours’ new space in the Treasury on the Plaza. Check them out for some of the best food and wine tours around. This local biz offers walking and riding tours, holiday-themed adventures with characters like Santa and The Grinch, and micro events in their headquarters. I can’t wait to visit again.
Thursday
- Cardio: 4.23 miles, walking
Whee for a cooler morning!
Next up was a much needed hair appointment. I am wearing next to no makeup in this photo, but I love the lowlights.
That evening, A’s school had their winter arts showcase. We were treated to performances from chorus, jazz band, dance, theatre, and band, as well as displays from visual arts. The talent was simply beyond.
Friday
- Cardio: 6.29 miles, running + walking
Disappointingly, I ran by myself. I changed up my intervals, and it was lonely but productive.
Mr PugRunner and I chilled at home. I set up the tree (finally), and we got A off to his camping weekend. It’s been so long since he has been able to join his camping buddies, so we were glad he could go.
Saturday
- Cardio: Santa Suits On The Loose 5k
Two races this weekend! The first was Santa Suits On The Loose at St. Augustine Beach. This was a new event for me and it was really well done. I will definitely run it again (race report coming Wednesday!).
The day was just gross: dreary and foggy. After we got home, we lounged around and did some decorating, before getting ourselves together for our dinner date at JAX Cooking Studio. With the assistance of the chefs, we made a three course meal, with plenty of wine and laughs. Loved it!
Goal-getting + Thoughts
This week, I have a few more earrings orders to complete, one more big meeting, and then it’s time for cookies and festivities. Wheee!
I also want to go back to the gym this week. There are things about my body which are really bothering me, and I need to do something about it.
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!
How was your week in training? Are you decorating, baking, and getting last minute holiday things done?
Darlene S Cardillo says
two races… that’s my kind of weekend.
Love your hair. I do the same old color… I need to spice it up!!
My holiday prep is low key… some dinners parties and cards!!
runswithpugs says
She did lowlights and the middle part! It was a win!
Jenny says
Well, we had some of your gloom and fog this morning, but by the afternoon it was hot and muggy (as usual.) But next weekend we have an actual cold front coming! I’m starting to get my hopes up- cautiously- for a cold Christmas.
It was very hard for me to go back to the gym, but now I’m starting to figure out a routine with it, and I like it. There’s things at the gym that I just can’t do at home.
runswithpugs says
I do hope it’s a chilly Christmas. I want to wear cozy things.
Wendy says
Interesting that it is gloomy and foggy by you because that’s what we’ve been experiencing here!!! it’s chilly but not cold. Up in Wisco, there’s snow on the ground and with the fog, it made for a really interesting landscape. Makes me want to curl up under a blanket, though.
Such a busy week for you again! I really need to buckle down and get the holiday stuff done!
runswithpugs says
Yeah, it’s gross. I almost wish we had a fireplace to cut through the gloom.
Kimberly Hatting says
Nice active week! We’ve had the gloomy weather the past few days…but it’s probably a tad bit colder here, LOL. I’ve been snuggling under the thick blankets as much as possible 😉
runswithpugs says
I found a dog bed for humans that I want. It’s so fluffy and cuddly looking, and it’s just the pinnacle of cozy.
Lisa Willford says
Gloom was in order all week here in Ohio! I am impatiently waiting for our white Christmas to arrive and make everything fresh looking. My daughter is coming home this week so our Christmas traditions will start happening soon. I am looking forward to that!
runswithpugs says
That sounds lovely! I hope you have the best time!
Kim G says
Our weather has been all over the place. We hard a “warm” day, a foggy day, a rainy day, and right now it’s snowing, lol.
runswithpugs says
I would love some snow but it’s not going to happen.
Deborah Brooks says
2 races in one weekend! That is ambitious and fun. Looks like you squeezed a lot into your week. Have a great week ahead
runswithpugs says
I really meant to walk both. I don’t know what happened.
Michelle says
Looks like another busy week for you! Both the tasting tour and cooking class look like so much fun!
And 2 races in one weekend?! Way to go!
runswithpugs says
The tour and the class were so fun. I highly recommend.
Susanne says
Well done running every day, and some races too! Is that frost in your cooler morning picture? And you’re in shorts? Wow, you’re brave. Or, you’re Irish! 😀
I love your peacock photo! Hope you’ll have another productive fitness week and that you’ll get to the gym too.
runswithpugs says
Nah, not frost. I’ll run in shorts down to about 45F, and then switch over. That being said, I AM Irish, so that must be it.
Debbie says
Congrats on running two races in one weekend! Santas on the Loose – I love it! We had a similar race a few years ago where we each received a Santa suit as swag and the number of people who ran in costume was amazing. My husband was race photographer and got some fantastic photos of hundreds of Santas running down the parkway.
runswithpugs says
Those pics must have been fun! There were a lot of red Santa Suits and a lot of people wore the green race shirt. Against the white morning fog, pro pics would have been gorgeous.
Liz Dexter says
Love the hairdo and you’re so good at doing cultural and foodie things. I do now go to (a lot of!) book events thanks to our new indie bookshop. Sorry the weather’s been weird – we’ve had New York’s freezing temps and snow and ice, though I think they’ve got it back again now and we’re back to rain from Saturday. It’s been 26 a few evenings, cold for us!
runswithpugs says
I wish we had more cultural stuff to do in the area. I am between two bigger cities, but they aren’t really “big cities” how London or NYC would be.
Stay toasty!
