I am thrilled that year is off to a strong start: it goes me a little extra motivation! The second week of the year rushed in, full of all kinds of activities and lots of fun.
Sunday
- Cardio: 4 miles, walking
Look at that sun! What a way to start the week!
Monday
- Cardio: 8.8 miles, running + .72 miles, walking
So I know that looks like a lot of miles, but I am doing some running on my own and then meeting up with J as she eases back into running with Couch to 5K. It will balance at some point.
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law surprised us with a visit – Mr PugRunner especially. I let them have the day together while I handed driving A here and there for his various activities. It was a good day.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 4.96 miles, walking
Tuesdays are always pretty busy, but no reason not to start with a solid walk!
Wednesday
- Cardio: 5.02 miles, running + 3.89 miles, walking
This was a good, strong run. I was happy with all of it.
It was a kind of stressful rest of day, but I got through it, working on earrings orders. How cute are these?
Thursday
- Cardio: 5.5 miles, walking
Another day, another walk. I did some miles in the neighborhood, and then I did some more in a nearby park when I went to make a delivery. Can we talk about my Brooks banana shirt? Love it.
The woods were good for me. I needed that decompression.
Friday
- Cardio: 5 miles, running + .93 miles, walking
Happy five miles! I opted not to go for six because it was cold, and raining, and I had a race the next day. Do I look miserable in this photo? That’s because I am.
I had a lunch and planning session with another local creator.
In the evening, some of my current neighbors and I went to our old neighbor’s new house for sushi and wine. We used to see each other so much more but with the move and the holidays, not so much. It was perfect and wonderful and we need to do it more.
Saturday
- Cardio: Resolution Run 5K
Obviously, I will share the race report this week, but it was a good run. It was’t my fastest 5K since my return from injury, but it was close. I’m proud of that.
It was also close to freezing! Maybe that’s the secret!
We had breakfast with my parents, and then headed home. From there, I showered really quickly and A and I drove into town to catch Tiger 24 at the St. Augustine Film Festival. What a sad and fascinating film.
And then I had to finish my vision board for National Vision Board Day! I am all ready to crush those goals!
Goal-getting + Thoughts
On another note, I really don’t watch much football, but our Jacksonville Jaguars somehow managed to pull of a crazy win last night and are on their way to the playoffs! Yay!
Confession: I won this amazing workout plan from @KimRunsTheMitten, and while I am so excited, life has prevented me from starting. I’m a little frustrated but also I have to honor the reality of my world. I am saving them all up and will be starting soon.
Other than that, my fitness world feels strong and solid. Let’s keep it going!
I am linking up with the Weekly Rundown, with Confessions of A Mother Runner and Running on the Fly! Check them out!
How was your week in training? Have you heard of or tried InfraslimX?

I had no idea that there was a national vision board day – that’s so cool! I did a vision board a few years ago and really enjoyed the process.

I am so jealous of the sun! Please send it here. It has been so gloomy here, quite depressing. Great job on your race!
