Winter is bidding farewell, which means it must be time for Spring and all my spring race plans. This year, I am working on at least one race per month, although it might end up being more. I have really missed racing over the past few years, so it’s nice to have those goals again.
Santa Maria del Mar Mission Possible 5K – April 1
The Santa Maria del Mar Mission Possible 5K would be a new race for me. It takes place in Flagler Beach and about half the course runs along the ocean. It would also be a comped entry for me, so that makes it extra tempting. There isn’t a finisher medal, but runners get a t-shirt, so that’s ok.
Vilano Bridge 5K or 10K – April 1
I do have a choice to make, because the Vilano Bridge 5K and 10K is on the same morning. This is a great race, much closer to home, with a medal. There’s a cute little after party, too, but one does have to run over the beastly Vilano Bridge and back again. What to do?
Wine & Chocolate 5K – April 8
The Wine & Chocolate 5K is another race I’ve never run. It’s a nighttime event, and this year, it falls on the night before Easter. Incidentally, it’s also the same day as my rescheduled alpaca yoga event. Runners get a wine glass (and wine to go in it) after the race, as well as chocolate tastings, so I’m definitely into it. I just haven’t registered.
Memorial Day 5K Run – May 29
This is my first ever 5K, and one of my favorite local races. The organizers haven’t updated their info for the year, but it’s held on Memorial Day and while it’s always hot, it’s a good course. This is actually my goal race for the spring, and I have embarked on a RunSmartOnline training plan to prepare. Fingers crossed for solid results!
What’s on your Spring Race Calendar?
I am linking up with Kookyrunner and Zenaida this Tuesday for Tuesday Topics!
What do you love about running?

I’m very intrigued by the Wine and Chocolate 5K, lol. Now that sounds like a race I would 100% participate in.
Jenny says
The Wine and Chocolate 5k sounds right up your alley! I can’t wait to hear all about it. I agree you’ve got a tough choice to make with the first two- it sounded like a no-brainer till you mentioned running over the bridge twice!
Kimberly Hatting says
Awh, I say you take on the bridge on April 1st š Sounds like a great challenge, and you get some hardware for the effort š
Catrina says
Oh, I’m with Kim and Jenny on the Wine and Chocolate 5k! An evening race with wine, and a few days off afterwards… sounds perfect!
It would be the perfect Blogger meet-up race, ha!

Iām in limbo. I have to pace my recovery.
