Here we are, joining together once again for coffee and chit chat. July was a busy month, with lots going on. August will be more of the same. Let’s get into it!
After reading here, head on over to visit Coco and Deborah, our awesome link-up hosts.
Over Coffee, I Would Tell You…
That we had an incredible time in Atlanta. Last time I visited, I wasn’t in love with the city. This time, traffic aside, I was so happy. I loved all the public art, and the parks, and I can’t wait to go back to do some more walking and exploring.
Over coffee, I would tell you that…
I finally decided my hair needed a major overhaul. I walked into my stylist yesterday with a photo of a new, darker color. She was super nervous that I wouldn’t like it, but I love it so very much, and so badly needed the change. I used to switch things up pretty regularly, but since we started going more blond, I didn’t want to mess with the process. This was a long time coming.

We went to see The Barbie Movie, and I loved it so much. I absolutely leaned into the pink, and got heart-shaped glasses, wore a pink dress, went out for pink cocktails, and even asked Mr. PugRunner to wear pink. Yup, he was my date. He liked it, too, and i was really happy about that. We are supposed to go see Oppenheimer next, so I’m trying to find a day to do it before school starts.
Over coffee, I would tell you that…
School starts next week! A got his schedule, and in addition to his core classes, he will be in two band classes (wind ensemble and jazz) and American Sign Language. We are all really excited about that. He already went to school to get his schedule, and we will be back next week to actually walk his classes and meet his teachers. He didn’t want to do much back to school shopping, but we will snag a few things before his first day. But also, look how grown he is!
Over coffee, I would tell you that…
I’ve been a little quiet on the blogging front, because I’ve been absolutely absorbed with a new client. I am feeling so inspired and motivated, and I will be in and out until I get in my groove.
What would you tell me over coffee?

I like to switch my hair color up seasonally as well. Why not!? Have not seen the Barbie movie yet but I want to. Wow school starts early for you all down there!
Coco says
Wow, A does look grown up now! Here’s to a great school year.
When I was in college I dyed my hair a lot. Going from Jet Black to Maxi Blonde was quite an adventure! Your color looks more natural, of course. 😉
I did get the OPI Hello Barbie hot pink for my recent pedicure. I think Barbie is making our whole world pinker.

Your hair looks gorgeous!
Yes A looks SO grown up! I swear it happens so fast. Hope he has a wonderful school year. My daughter loved the Barbie movie but I haven’t yet convinced the Caveman to see it with me. I have the perfect Barbie pink outfit to wear…just saying…haha!
Darlene S Cardillo says
Your hair looks great. Summer time makes my hair look awful (at least it’s mostly in a cap for running).
I’m seeing the Barbie movie Saturday… very excited!
I visted Atlanta once for a conference – too hot and too crowded is all I remember.
Zenaida Arroyo says
So much to say here! Your son is tall! Your hair is gorgeous! Glad you went all out for the Barbie movie! I haven’t seen it but have heard good things about it. I am not sure I will wear pink or get into it like everyone else did. Nothing wrong with it. 🙂

Your hair looks amazing!!! What a nice way to switch things up.
A looks like he’s taller than your husband now! Isn’t it weird when they start to tower over you?
I offered to take my daughter to see Barbie but she doesn’t want to go with me, SIGH. I’m not sure my husband will go- he definitely won’t wear pink! Our family is just not as fun as yours.

Your hair looks great! We’ve been progressively going darker with my color as well. I figured since I don’t have much grey yet, I might as well embrace it, LOL.

Love the new hair, it looks great! I can’t believe how much A has grown! I hope he has a great school year ahead. Me being a former band kid and clarinet/sax player I like to see that band curriculum!
I haven’t seen Barbie yet, I should try to go with my sister, maybe I’ll do that to celebrate my birthday!
runswithpugs says
Thank you! Oh, I love that you played clarinet and sax! He’s so excited to be doing both.
Yes! Go! It was nice to see with Mr PugRunner but I would have loved to see it with girlfriends.

Even before you said it, I was going to comment how big A has gotten.
It’s so interesting about ASL. As a kid I didn’t know anyone deaf or hard of hearing, never heard of ASL. Not til I went to college, which also including the National Technical Institute of the Deaf — I learned some ASL then but that was a very long time ago. I have a pan online friend whose daughter is going to start college to become an interpreter.

I live in St. Augustine, home to the Florida School For The Deaf And Blind. As a result, we have a huge deaf community. A is an assistant teacher at a karate school that teaches in ASL, too, so it will be great for that. He’s excited, and I hope to learn a little from him.
He just volunteered at his old elementary school today, and some of his old teachers were stunned at how he’s grown since 5th grade.
