2023 has been quite the year, with some of my favorite fitness moments to date. While everything wasn’t always rosy, there were definitely some highlights that are worth mentioning.
Committing To A Gym
We started to work out at our local gym this year, and short of the Covid interruption, I’ve been DEDICATED. That’s right. I put in four to five days a week of strength training, and it’s working great. Being back this week feels right, and I am looking forward to adding in some classes to round things out and give me some variety.
Relaxing With Alpaca Yoga
If you haven’t had the chance to undertake alpaca yoga, you are missing out. Seriously. This was the loveliest morning. The only negative was not being able to practice our flow in the actual alpaca pasture, but I understand the difficulties with that endeavor. However, flowing through poses and postures under the watchful eye of these beautiful creatures was good enough for me!
And Let’s Not Forget About Goat Yoga
The reality is, if there’s yoga with animals, I’m going to be on board for it. Our first goat yoga attempt was rained out, but we got to cuddle the babies and give them their bedtime bottles to make up for the loss. We also got a rain date, where we were able to flow with the excited goats, and that was absolutely epic.
Adding States 8 and 9 To My Roster
That’s right! I added two more states to my race total: Alabama and South Carolina! It finally worked out that our travel lined up with some 5Ks, and I registered for races to add to the tally. Getting to 50 states is going to be a challenge, but it’s a long-standing goal that I can always chip away at. Fun fact: both these races happened over one month, November. Way to fit it all in!
Kayaking With Mr PugRunner
I love a good kayak adventure, so it was nice to embark on one with Mr. PugRunner. He’s not quite as outdoorsy as I am, so it’s always nice when he suggests getting out in the great wide somewhere. It was a great day, and I hope we can do it again when things get a little warmer on the water.
