When you’re on any kind of fitness journey, the benefits of staying on track are manyfold. Consistency and dedication play into your overall success, and it’s so much easier to reach your goals when you make it a point to stay the course. Let’s dive into it!
When you stay on track, you create strong habits.
If you create and stick with a routine, you are much more likely to build good habits that keep you going. It’s far easier to give up something sporadic than it is to abandon any everyday event. One of the reasons I walk or run at least a mile every day is that it puts me in the headspace of continuing to… walk or run at least a mile every single day.
When you stay on track, you reduce the chance of setbacks
Even though muscle memory is strong, getting off track can lead to a loss of strength and fitness. It’s not an immediate thing, but any time you lost gains after building them, the struggle becomes frustrating and it gets harder to overcome. I’m all about keeping things as intuitive as possible, so minimizing setbacks helps move my overall journey forward.
When you stay on track, you achieve goals faster.
It’s the truth: staying on track is a surefire way to achieve your goals and that’s such a great feeling. If you are sporadic about your workouts, it becomes harder to see and maintain your progress. Personally, once I’m in a solid groove, I just want to keep pushing to see what I can conquer! Few things beat that feeling.

I completely agree! I just keep showing up and sticking to my schedule. That is always a win

This is great advice!
It reminds me a bit of the saying: “A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it.”
If you stick to your solid groove, you don’t have to overcome any setbacks!

Being consistent is what helped me be a stronger runner a few years ago. Now, I am slacking and, well, it isn’t going as well as I want it to go.

It’s hard when things start going by the wayside. I feel it right now… I just want to … skip tomorrow’s run. But I won’t. It needs to happen.
