When I got involved in an active fitness life, I found myself far more adventures and willing to try new fitness activities. It’s how I found running, triathlons, stand up paddleboarding, and so many other fun things. I never thought I would be so willing to try new physical activities, and even though my ankle limits my comfort level a little, I have a list of sports and activities I’d like to try.
Pickleball
I don’t know what it is, but a random sport, where you hit a wiffle ball with an oversized ping pong paddle over a badminton net just screams my name. Do I have the proper hand eye coordination to actually hit said ball? Who knows? But I think this would be a fun couples or friends sport, with cute outfits and followed by brunch. Sign me up.
Heavy Lifting
I feel fairly confident in the gym when I use the machines and free weights, but I would love to “graduate” to the heavy weights and bars. I am always so inspired when I see other friends and bloggers making huge gains in the gym, and I sometimes wish I could be a part of it.
KickBoxing
Once upon a time, I used to work out at 9Round, which was a kickboxing based boutique gym. However, I would love to learn the actual art of kickboxing. It would be really cool to apply some of the moves to an actual practice, and I always thought it would be fun to learn how to fight properly. Which leads us to…
Martial Arts
… Karate! I actually have the opportunity to take karate classes, but scheduling is always an issue. I love my son’s dojo, and I work very closely with the leadership there, and it would be so incredible to earn some advanced belts. Confession: part of the test to move up is completing forward and backward rolls. I have never been able to master either of those maneuvers and this is one of the big things holding me back.
Bungee Fitness
Look. I have zero idea of what Bungee Fitness is supposed to accomplish, but dang it looks fun and calorie-burning. Can you imagine just bouncing all over the place, getting that workout on? It would be both ridiculous and effective, which are my favorite things.

The bungee workouts look so weird (but fun) to me!
You should try some heavy lifting if you want to! It’s such a good feeling and a few weeks of heavier weights will benefit your usual lifting. You just need to be careful with form, and do fewer reps. Your personal trainer (or at least I think I remember you mentioned one earlier) should be able to advise on this.
I’ve become interested in wall climbing recently! But only if I can have some harness. I don’t know if I’ll ever do it but it would be a good thing to challenge my fear of heights.

I’m limited because of my ankle but if I had time I’d like to try pickle ball. It is so popular here.

These are all fun things! I have pickleball on my list as well and the bungee thing looks really fun! You should mark one of these off of your list this year!

Wow, you have some cool ones! Bungee fitness! Karate! Kick boxing! I know so many people who absolutely love pickle ball, I’ll be interested to hear all about it if you try it. Well actually I would be interested to hear about any of these! You’re definitely more adventurous than I am.

That bungee class looks fun. I have tried aerial yoga. I want to try pickleball, too!

Someone else mentioned pickleball. That looks like something fun to try. Heavy lifting is something I would try too, but I need to start with the basics (free weights and machines).

Well, if pickleball involves oversized ping pong paddles, wiffle balls, and brunch, count me in! Though, I can’t help but wonder if it’s just an elaborate plot to get us to eat more pickles. Either way, I’m game! Let’s hope my coordination holds up… or at least until brunch!
