Everyone seems to be having a similar experience: spring is wonky this year. While I don’t mind the cooler temperatures, I do hate the storms and the rain. They kind of ruin everything. But onward we go!
Sunday
- Cardio: 3.94 miles, walking
After a very long Saturday, I was super happy to sleep in and have a leisurely walk.
Then I took A and his girlfriend shopping for prom. It’s a big deal, and it was nice to get to join them and offer advice and assistance. From there, we met my mom for a super late lunch/early dinner, and then we called it a day. I had so much work to catch up on and just needed a little downtime.
Monday
- Cardio: 6 miles, running
- Strength: Arms + Abs, 50 minutes
Oh, Monday. We meet again. I got in my run and took the kids to school.
I got myself to the gym, and then headed in for new nails. I love these.
Mr PugRunner flew home that night, too. His flight was a little delayed, but he made it! He had a great time with his brother and nephews at the NCAA Tournament, so that was wonderful.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.48 miles, running + walking
- Strength: Legs + Abs, 50 minutes
A little Couch to 5K on a Tuesday morning? I’ll take it.
A was home from school because the juniors had ACT and everyone else had a “virtual learning day.” I invited him to join me for breakfast at a local farm, and he agreed! The Feed Mill offers donation based breakfasts during the week, as well as pizzas on weekends. You can purchase produce, fresh meat, dairy, and eggs, as well as see all animals. We had french toast, biscuits and gravy, and frittatas, all literally farm to table.
Wednesday
- Cardio: 6.05 miles, walking
So I had a run planned, but i woke up with super sore hips and glutes. I decided to just walk and skip the gym.
I was off kilter all day because we had a media sunset boat tour scheduled, but the weather was bad. Really, really bad. Ultimately, the team ended up rescheduling, but I struggle with uncertainty, so it made the rest of my day a bit more challenging. As it was, we got take out sushi instead, and I completed a bunch of projects. Go me!
Thursday
- Cardio: 4.36 miles, running + 1.79 miles, walking
- Strength: Legs + Abs, 50 minutes
J bailed on me due to the rain, but I was already out so felt like I needed to finish. Yay.
I also did my thing at the gym, and it felt much better. Love when that happens.
Friday
- Cardio: 5 miles, running + walking
We had a good Couch to 5K session, and a nice chat.
When I got home, I did some prep work for Easter. And then A and I headed to Daytona for the FFCC Winter Guard Championships. I wanted to get there earlier since it was a holiday weekend, so we got dinner together and walked to the pier. We stayed through two of the AA sections and through the Retreat and Awards Ceremony. It was a crazy late night and a long drive home, but our school’s team was amazing!
Saturday
- Cardio: 4.41 miles, walking
Ready to take on Easter weekend! I walked.
I did more Easter prep, and then we headed out to see a chalk sidewalk art competition. Had a nasty migraine for most of the day, but so it goes.
Thoughts + Goals
Tomorrow is Easter, so we are getting all ready for that. A graciously colored some eggs, and that was a huge help.
I feel like this will be our last “normal” week until the end of the quarter. Between band events, testing and all the rest, it feels like school is practically over! We are starting to schedule college tours for the summer, as well as plan a vacation. We need it for sure!
How was your week in training? Are you celebrating anything this weekend? Ever watch chalk artists in action?

Glad to see you were able to overcome scheduling challenges and get your runs in!
Wow, that chalk art is amazing! I wish I had that kind of talent.
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Yes on the chalk. So amazing how talented some are.
I rarely run when it’s raining. Unless it’s warm or a race. Good for you.
Happy Easter. Enjoy your day.

Looks like a busy and solid week for you. Hope you all have a great Easter celebration
Debbie says
You really had a busy week! I don’t like uncertainty either, so that waiting to hear if the event needed to be rescheduled would have driven me nuts, too.
I don’t think I’ve seen chalk art that extensive in real life, but have seen some amazing stuff online. Sounds like a fun event.
Happy Easter!

You always are so busy! My Easter prep was ordering a meal kit from Fresh Market and picking it up. 😉
I hate it when my schedule is up in the air, so I get that off-kilter feeling! Glad you were able to make the most of the freed up time.

Sounds like a great week. And, PROM? Oh my goodness, I remember when A was such a little kid! And college visits- I’m excited to hear all about that.
We didn’t get any of your stormy weather down here- it was actually a really nice week. But summer is coming… shudder…
Kimberly Hatting says
The chalk art looks incredible!! I’d be all about that: 🙂 Loons like a great week for you!

Will your college tours take you far and wide? Or does A plan on staying in state? There are so many great choices of colleges!
That’s so fun that you were able to join in the prom shopping. I did get to pick out my son’s suit and he got a lot of use out of it! (went to prom 3 years!)

Fun week! Lots of cool events as always. Love your nails!
How sweet you can help your son and his girlfriend. What a great relationship you have!
