The countdown to Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years is on, so this Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide for Runners is coming in hot!
(This is an update of a post previously published in November 2021)

Stocking Stuffers
First up in my holiday gift guide for runners, the stocking. Stockings are my favorite part of the gift giving experience. They can be filled with so many wonderful treats and perfect little presents. I think I look forward to them more than anything else.
Fill your favorite runner’s stocking with things like:
- Great running socks, like these from Jogology
- Running fuel, in the form of gels and chews
- Tubes of Nuun electrolyte tablets
- Running or race-themed ornaments
Accessories
Slightly larger than stocking stuffers are accessories. These are just as fun, but maybe won’t fit on the mantel.
- cute Goodr sunglasses
- a festive new hat from Alter Ego
- new headphones (the Beats noise-cancelling earbuds are my gym go-to)
- an upgraded smart or fitness watch (I’m currently loving my Apple watch)
- a Bob & Brad Massage Gun like this.
Gear
What runner doesn’t love new gear? A cute new outfit is always fun! And what about shoes? It’s on the list!
Check out
- All In Motion from Target. I love their shorts, leggings and tanks.
- Old Navy Activewear has great sports bras, bike shorts and leggings for a fabulous price.
- Athleta is the perfect place to splurge on a cute fit for your favorite runner.
- Brooks Running has some of the best cold-weather and protective gear around.
- a favorite pair of running shoes (or a gift certificate to go towards that pair!)
Experiences
Yes, I love wrapping paper and ribbon, but running experiences make for fabulous holiday gifts, too!
- A race entry (bonus points if you register to run, too!). Try any of the upcoming Best Damn Race events!
- A sports massage with their favorite LMT
- A session or two with a reputable running coach
- A gift certificate for cryotherapy or similar therapeutic service
What do you plan to give or hope to receive this holiday season?

These are ALL great gifts. I don’t understand why my husband has so much trouble.
Chocolaterunsjudy recently posted…3 Things Learned from a Great Race
LOL! Sometimes, they just don’t get it.
Lots of great suggestions! I like giving non-size specific accessories, like hats, headbands, buffs and (sometimes) gloves/mittens…especially if it’s a secret Santa exchange or for someone I don’t know that well. I really try to avoid the dreaded gift card, LOL
I love gift cards, and I know they are great for helping people get exactly what they want.
Great list! The only runner I shop for is my husband, and I usually get him small things like socks and other accessories or a new pair of shoes if I know he needs them. I might be adding some of these ideas to my own wish list!
Wish lists are sooo fun!
All great ideas. We have given up on gifts because we all just buy what we need.
We do, too, but we still try.
I love everything! I’ll PM you my address… 😛
Hahahaha! Perfect!
HOW DID I MISS THIS? I LOVE gift guides! I usually give my husband some running related gifts… he does really well with the Old Navy activewear.
ha ha on Wendy’s comment above…
Old Navy has some fabulous stuff!
Yes to all of these suggestions! Now to subtly send my husband a link to this post 😉
LOL! I’m in the same position!
My favourite gift ideas are definitely experiences! So that would be something I’d gift someone special or would like to be gifted! Beautifully put together Jenn – feels good to get into the Christmas mood!
It really does!
A massage gift certificate would be such a wonderful gift! I love the idea of sports nutrition stuff as a stocking stuffer.
I love those little gifts in my stocking.
Great ideas. It’s easy to buy for a runner
It absolutely can be!
You’ve listed some great gift ideas for runners! One year at the Cruisers (my running group) Christmas party, I put a pint glass with lines on the side marking 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, ultra into the gift exchange. It was the hot item everyone wanted. 😀
Oh, that’s cool! I love that idea!
These are ma y of my favorites as well! I’ve already started shopping!
I have to get on it!
