On Thursday, we celebrate 25 years with Girls On The Run. GOTR is an incredible organization, dedicated to “inspiring girls to know and activate their limitless potential and boldly pursue their dreams.” For one quarter of a century, this group empowered girls through the sport of running, teaching important life skills and providing valuable experiences they could carry with them through their lives.
How are we celebrating?
#RunForGirls Virtual 5K
At any point during the day on March 25, join us for the #RunForGirls Virtual 5K with More Miles Races and FRÉ Skincare. The cost of registration is only $5, and all proceeds go directly to Girls On The Run. Additional donations are also welcome. Every participant will receive a “how to prep for 5k” running package with Coach Alyssa Olenick and is eligible to win exclusive FRÉ wear! This is a great way to come together and support the girls in our areas, and I am so excited to to make it happen!
25th Virtual Birthday Party
At 7:00PM ET on Thursday, March 25, join the Virtual Birthday Party by livestream. The event is free (although you can upgrade to some great packages at an additional cost). Keynote speaker Hoda Ktob is just part of the exciting lineup for the evening. Hear from GOTR CEO, Elizabeth Kunz, as well as a panel of experts and athletes, speaking on how to help girls grow their confidence and strength through this phenomenal program.
Get Involved
Whether or not you can participate in the above events, you can always get involved. As a non-profit, GOTR always appreciates financial support: you can donate here if you are so inclined.
If you can make the gift of your time, the program needs people to coach and volunteer with the enrolled girls. You can make such an impact with your presence and influence, and it is so very welcome.
You can also support the organization by running GOTR 5Ks, or races where GOTR is featured as a charity partner. I’m so proud to be a part of races like The Cupcake Run for several events, including the most recent (virtual) endeavor
Are you celebrating 25 years of Girls On The Run? Will you run with us on Thursday? Let me know in the comments!

As we will be travelling tomorrow Thursday, I will do the 5k run today!
The GOTR sounds like an awesome organization. Do you know whether they operate internationally?
I would love to get involved in something like this in South Africa. It could make an enormous difference to many girls’ lives here.

I love girls on the run! I miss coaching so much. Obviously it was canceled this past year but I have coached the last 7 years. It’s a fabulous program

Wow! I didn’t know that Girls on the Run had been around that long. It’s such a great organization and does do much to help girls. The virtual half marathon I’m doing in April benefits GOTR.

Thank you for this post! I will either participate in the 5k tomorrow OR make a donation. This is a great cause!

My #5at5 got rained out this morning, so that’s happening tomorrow instead. I’ll check out the site to register (I’ll just do the virtual 5K with a couple of bonus miles).
