five ways to enjoy the boston marathon at home

April 15, 2022      13 Comments

How do you plan to enjoy the Boston Marathon this Monday, Patriots’ Day? Some of us will be there, running the famous 26.2 mile route with thousands of incredible athletes. The rest of us will be home, cheering from afar. For the latter, let’s make the most of our day and spectating!

Download the B.A.A. Racing App

The B.A.A. Racing App is going to be your top resource for all things Boston Marathon. You can find links to download both the Apple IOS and Android versions here. The mobile app is your number one link to all things Boston, and you need it before Monday’s events begin.

Track Your Friends and Favorites

Now that you have the app, start loading in the bib numbers of your friends, family, and favorites. that way, you’ll be able to follow them from start to finish, right on Hereford, left on Boylston, all the way to victory.

Go For A Run

On Marathon Monday, throw on your blue and yellow, and unicorn gear, and go for a run. Sure, you may not be logging 26.2 through the streets of Boston, but do what feels right. FOMO is a thing, and you don’t want to be left out with so much running going on.

Make A Runner-Worthy Breakfast

The Boston Marathon goes all day, so you need to be fueled up to power through. Get your bagel and banana so you’ve got the nutrition you require.

Queue Up The Coverage

You can enjoy the Boston Marathon in a number of ways.

  • Local to Boston: live on WBZ-TV from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET
  • National Coverage: live on USA Network and NBC Sports app from 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM ET

Visit the Boston Marathon website here for more details and International coverage.

And don’t forget the Dunks!

Are you running or spectating Boston this year? Who are you rooting for?

Oh yes!!! I have taken the day off work (I do this every year) and will be watching!!! I’ll get up early, go for a run, get my daughter off to school, and then settle down in front of the TV. Great idea about the app- I’ll do that. Jessie from The Right Fits is running, Janae from Hungry Runner Girl, and also some friends from real life. As you can tell, I’m very excited!!!

I love all these ideas to make those of us at home also feel like we are part of it all! A run is a great way to also feel part of the occasion in some way!

I love Marathon Monday! I always track friends and try to spectate in person. This year I’ll probably catch it on TV…after a run of course 😉
