Oh, yes! We are back from another adventure! Two weeks ago, after a busy weekend of pet sitting, we packed up the car and took 95N to North Carolina for our nephew’s wedding! Due to schedules and logistics and seasons of live, we haven’t all been together in YEARS, so it promised to be a great time! Let’s go!

Sunday
- Cardio: 4.21 miles, walking
And so begins two big weeks! Of course, every big adventure starts with some miles!

Monday
- Cardio: 4.56 miles, running
- Strength: Horses + Pilates, 60 minutes
I started the week with a little run.

And then I followed it up at my friend’s farm. Her daughter is teaching a “horses and pilates” class that combines mat pilates with petting the farm animals. Sign me up. Immediately! It was a great workout, and I was sore for dayyyyys. And of course, I was super happy to support a friend!

Tuesday
- Cardio: 4.54 miles, running
Last day before the big trip!
Wednesday
- Cardio: 2.16 miles, walking
Yes, I did a nice walk but I was on a tight time frame and didn’t get a photo. We loaded up the car and I drove most of the way to coastal North Carolina.
We arrived in town around 4PM, and then did a quick turnaround so we could go get dinner with some of the family! It was a beautiful night with a view of the pier.

Thursday
- 4.32 miles, running
Time to explore! I had a gorgeous run through the area we are staying. It’s always fun to discover new and gorgeous locations!

Mr PugRunner went off golfing with the guys and I took the kids out to breakfast. We went out with some of the ladies in the afternoon and then welcome drinks at night! Having all the different events is so fun!
Friday
- Cardio: 4.86 miles, running
I went on another exploratory run, before a huge storm that knocked out power across the town! Yikes!

We didn’t notice anything wrong, but apparently, the rehearsal dinner location was no longer able to have us (due to the outage), so there was some behind the scenes shuffling to find a new spot. All worked out beautifully, and we followed it up with drinks on the water.

Saturday
- Cardio: 4.6 miles, walking
Happy Wedding Day! I started the morning with a few miles. I knew it was going to be a long night and just wanted to feel my very best.

We had breakfast by the beach, and then headed into the small downtown area for some walking around, and a light lunch. Then it was time to get ready!
The wedding and reception were both stunning, and we are so happy for our nephew and his new wife! It was another late night with the reception and then an after party, but we had a blast!

Sunday
- Cardio: 2.17 miles, walking
I think it’s clear that we were all dragging a wee bit. I only had time for a couple of miles because we had early brunch on the schedule.

And since it was Father’s Day, Mr PugRunner got some time to go golfing with his brother and some other guys, before a final, farewell cookout at my brother- and sister-in-laws house.
Monday
- Cardio: 3.05 miles, running + walking
We weren’t in AS much of a rush to get on the road, so I had time for one last workout around the condo. It felt great, even if it was obscenely hot.

And then we were off! I drove the entire distance, and I was exhausted by the time we rolled in the driveway. Road trips are fun, but I’m also glad when they are over.
Tuesday
- Cardio: 5.03 miles, running + walking
Re-entry is always tough, but after being stuck in a car for seven hours, it was pretty phenomenal to stretch my legs.

The day was spent catching up around the house, doing laundry, and getting everything set back to right. We usually leave the house pretty well settled, but there are always little details to sort out before saying “we are home.”
Wednesday
- Cardio: 5.24 miles, walking
It was super great to meet up with J again! Between both our schedules, it’s been tough!

And on the animal front, Leonidas was still exhausted from HIS vacation at our neighbor’s. That boy slept for three days! And we have about 13 eggs in a nest outside our front door! I can’t wait for them to hatch!

Thursday
- Cardio: 5.23 miles, running + walking
I’m getting up late, I start running, and it just devolves to walking. It’s awful. But I’m still recovering from the week before, and I’m giving myself so much grace!

In the evening, I headed off to start a weekend sit for four awesome pets! I am excited to see them!
Friday
- Cardio: 5.25 miles, running
I’m not saying it was any cooler. I’m just saying I couldn’t take wimping out anymore. It was a slow and ugly run, but it’s done and that’s what matters most.

My day was super chill, hanging with some awesome clients. I’m so lucky to have great people and pets in my roster.
That evening, we tried something new: a line dancing class at a local country club! This particular venue offers all kinds of community events that are reasonably priced and cover a variety of themes, and I’ve been wanting to check them out. My only complaint is that the a/c was not doing its job and we were DRIPPING! But it was so fun and I learned a few cool moves. I have the hat and the boots so I’m ready to go for next time!

Saturday
- Cardio: 4.03 miles, walking
Frineds, my feet were killing me after last night’s dancing! I’m so grateful for my Superfeet inserts, because they made my walk much more enjoyable.

From there, it was more hanging out in the A/C. It’s stupid hot and I don’t want to deal with it anymore. The house I’m staying at has a gorgeous pool, but it’s almost too hot for that, even. Ridiculous.
Thoughts + Goals
Thanks for hanging in for two weeks of chaotic fun and fitness! I had to take a little break while I was away, but I stayed on track through it all! In fact, I think a little walking and running kept my strength up for the festivities!
But now I’m back: that doesn’t mean things are calming down, either. We are now focused on A’s departure in a little over a month. There’s a huge checklist and so many tasks to complete, not to mention packing and moving! I’m going to need running more than ever, but we are hanging in there!
